I have been looking at an old Winchester model 12. It is 12 ga has a 30 inch full choke barrel. The bluing is completely worn away to bare metal. The wood is solid with no cracks splits or bad spots. The metal is not rusted or pitted inside or out. It operates as it should. I would put it cosmetically as fair condition. What do you folks think would be a fair price to offer for it? Thanks for any help putting a fair value on it.

That is probably the most common configuration. I would not pay over $275 for it as a shooter. I have owned lots of model 12's, and they are fine guns, but do not overpay for one because of the name.

In the condition you describe, $250-$300, depending on what year it was made, does it have a vented rib, any engraving, checkering etc. This especially the year it was made will definitely increase the value. I have one made in 1931, that is in excellent condition, that I wouldn't sell for under $800.00. It doesn't have a vented rib or engraving, or checkering, but the stock is in near perfect condition, as well as the blueing, and it has an after market recoil pad on it. Note the blueing on it has started to turn purple like, but there is no indication that the gun has ever been re-blued. You can check the year it was made by going to winchester.com. BTW I paid $175.00 for it to a guy that needed the money now it belonged to his great uncle. Don't regret the transaction one bit.;)
