Favorite K & N frame Subnose Grips?

Pachmayr Compac Professional.............

For a K or L frame I would probably do as @trackskippy did. Actually I did on my model 10, but it’s not a Snubnose.

For an N frame I would go with something like what’s on my 327 Night Guard. Unfortunately these grips are no longer available since Uncle Mike’s stopped making grips. Not sure I would do the Hogue Monogrip on a Snubnosed N frame.

I would go with the Hogue Mono grips over the factory S&W rubber grips, and that's what I replace them with when I get a gun that has them.

I don't know what S&W was thinking when they came up with the design that they did, but they screwed up. Their grips cover the backstrap and move your trigger finger back away from the trigger, making DA shooting more difficult. The two panels form a dull knife edge at the seam, which focuses the recoil right into your palm at that edge, making the heavier recoiling guns a lot more uncomfortable to shoot with.

With the Hogues, they leave the backstrap exposed, which helps spread out the recoil, and they keep the proper trigger finger geometry intact for DA shooting.

Yep, pretty much my to to grip for defense loads in J, K & L frame. They're smooth, not sticky on cover garments, their slim profile gives me a good "index of deflection" as Cooper used to phrase it.

Pic below, the upper gun, a Smith M-60 with 3" bbl. sports Hogue Mono's. Note how the 2nd finger support aligns with the underside of the trigger guard....no knuckle rap with that geometry. As opposed to the old pair of Smith combat grips, on the .22 cal. M-63. Swap grips on these two carry pieces and that M-60 will be NO FUN with any decent defensive load. The .22 could use most any grip design and be comfortable.

Wish I could find a pair of good wood grips with the same alignment for my bigger guns. Best Regards, Rod

I like the way the finger grooves on the 66 feel, and find the checkered bananas on the 19 comfortable as well
when shooting the 358156 GCs (seated to lower crimp groove) with 13.5 grs. of 2400 in .38 cases.

The speed loader cut outs are convenient too.

I love the grip that came on my 327. It fits my hands perfectly.
I also like the Hogue grip. I have one on my GP100.
EDIT: I don’t think I want one on my 327.

I like Pachmayr Presentation grips on my K-frame guns but the round butt frames do not fit well with the current Presentation grips available.

Pachmayr Gripper grips are a reasonable substitute.

For my N-frames, I shop gun shows for old Presentation grips.

I’ve used Compac grips on some of my J-frames. Larger than the Uncle Mike grips S&W used for a while but acceptable.

On a couple low recoil J-frames, I’ve used a rose wood/rubber Pachmayr grips. I like them on my 22LR Model 317.

I have a couple Hogues rubber grips in service. OK for shooting but I do not like the installation procedure.

Another Pachmayr recommendation here. I have shot other guys pistols with Hogue grips that worked well but I don't own any.

Very late in life, I've come to like Tyler Ts/BK adapters. They were sort of a codgery cop kind of thing when I was first shooting (you in the back, no smartass comments about wheelocks.... ;) )
They actually work really well, and have enjoyed a renaissance since getting exposure here (and Hats n' Gats as well).
In some ways, I prefer the alloy originals, but it is still a crapshoot getting those the same year you order. BK is quick, inexpensive, usually fit well, and have two locating straps. Unhappily, they're mostly making black ones currently.

ETA- I'll have a quick look on Tyler's site, for its claimed changes. They've been putting it off, as have I (posting pictures :( )

I was just on Altamont’s website and if anything happens to the Uncle Mike’s grips on. My 327 Night Guard I am buying these:

Olive drab G10 grips would look great on my 327.

Just looked them up, and status quo. Still promising to have a real online site....sometime.
Service stocks, or equivalent, with a Tyler T, or equivalent.
Burrhead, not sure what I like best, all your grip adapters, or the 'day of the dead' photo backdrop.
Ahhh, that's a lie, like the grip adapters best. ;)

I need to get my hands on one of those T grips. If I can, I can CAD it up and 3D print one.
