Right now it's #1) S&W 686 #2) Norinco 1911A1 #3) S&W 66-1 and #4) Sig P239 9mm. All accurate and a joy to shoot.

Ruger

My Ruger 44Mag, or any 45 Long Colt, the older the better...

Every member or veteran of the U.S. military is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand nor remember it.

A couple of guys mentioned the Glock 19, and I agree, although that is not what I own. Instead I got the Glock 23 (.40 cal) and got a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel. I like this combo because when I go to the range (weekly) I put 400-500 rounds through it. At $4.50 a box cheaper, the 9mm is what I shoot at the range. However when I get home, I clean the gun and put the .40 barrel and magazines back in for home protection. Some people would ask why not just get both a G19 and the G23, but I like to practice with the same gun I will use when SHTF.

Just my .02

#1 CZ-52 Mine shoots like a .22 with balls.
#2 686P 4" Polished, slicked up action. Tuned :)
#3 M&P .45 FS Tuned up action and detail work.
#4 PF-9 Fluff and Buff with some very basic mods KT should do. (CCW)
#5 (Wifes) M60 Pro The J to have other than the 5" barreled model. Tuned up
#6 Sigma 9mm Don't need a M&P, Glock, Springer. The Siggy is great!

I plan on shooting this one until they pry it from my cold, dead fingers. I liked it so much that I had a second one made up for when this one is down for repairs, or gone all the way from overuse. It is a 2nd Model S&W Hand Ejector, made for the Brits in WWI in .455, but has been converted to .45 Colt. I further had it cut down and done up to resemble the gun used by Harrison Ford in "Raiders of the Lost Ark". I was totally blown away by the accuracy of this gun with good old lead bullets sized to .454. It has patina, wear, scratches, a few dings, and a slightly stiff trigger but absolutely tight action, like a new gun on the inside. I load it a little soft, a 250 grainer @ 700-750fps, but I figure that will keep the gun together longer. It has enough external wear that I am not worried about putting a new scratch on it or a little more holster wear. How many of you have a gun you love that you can set on a rock while washing up in a stream and not worrry about scratching the finish?

A Super Blackhawk .44 with hot loads on a 246 grain bullet, or bigger. Wear gloves to hold on and absorb some recoil. Second choice was a friend's worked 1911 with a hair trigger and a whole bunch of accurizing accessories. I always liked, when I was young, to shoot guns with a lot of recoil. I had an old sawed off single barrel ten guage that would light up the night shooting rats at the dump.

My favorites are my Ruger Redhawk, 7.5" in 44 Magnum, Ruger Mk. II Target, and my Bersa Model 383 in 380 ACP.

I hand load, so neither round is as expensive as you would think by looking at the prices for factory ammo.

For 44 Magnum, I load up 44 Special level loads in the 44 Magnum cases. Super accurate and easy to shoot well. They don't beat me up, or break the wallet. (the magnum loads use 3X as much powder as the Specials!)

The Bersa is just amazingly accurate for such a small gun. I shoot it about as well as I do my full size 1911. It must have something to do with the barrel being fixed. It is also a compact size, but without feeling cramped.

The Ruger Mk. II is just deadly accurate. Light recoil, and a great feel in the hand. Cheap ammo is the icing on the cake.

Now, I don't want to be one of those guys who doesn't pick just one when he's asked to. So if if I have to pick just one, I will pick the Bersa. With a little guilt. It is not as accurate as the Redhawk or Mk. II, (hence the guilt) but it just makes me feel so .... competent. I feel like if I got into a real gunfight, this is the one that would give me the best fighting chance. Easily controllable recoil, good accuracy, enough oomph, quick to reload, and not too big to actually carry.

Pistol - Steyr M40-A1
Revolver - Ruger GP101 .357 Magnum
Bolt-rifle - Mosin nagant M39
SemiAuto rifle - Norinco Chinese SKS
Single Shot Rifle - None
Shotgun - 20ga break-action New England Firearms

Cant beat the feel of the ruger super blackhawk in your hand and the medium to heavy kick it gives (depending on the loads).

In a revolver its a toss up between a S&W 617 6" 10 shot, and a Ruger SBH shooting .44sp out of a 4.5" barrel. For a auto a Colt Seires70 in .45acp is a all time favorite, the Ruger MKll 5" target is a very close favorite.

To shoot

Favorite auto, Kimber full size .45, the trigger is practically telepathic.
Favorite (and only) revolver, Blackhawk convertible .357/.38 spcl /9mm in one package.
Both well made substantial steel weapons..... and I own some tupperware too so I can say that.

When money is no object, I have the most fun shooting my G19. But boy does it eat up the ammo. Pulling the trigger is like eating a Pringle. It's not too different from shooting my Ruger MkIII. Except the mags take 50% more ammo, and the bullets cost a heck of a lot more. With my bigger calibers, I at least pause to grin once in awhile. :)

That is a tough choice between my 4" S&W 586 and my SIG P228. Probably the S&W just because I love shooting revolvers.

The decision may be made by the Beretta 92FS I got last month from a friend. I shot it when he bought it new, but have never used it with the .22 conversion kit. I have a feeling that is going to be a lot of fun, and I know it will be cheaper than .38/.357 or 9mm.

My Glock 19 is my favorite gun to shoot. I enjoy shooting all my fire arms but I can never go to the range and leave my g19 in the safe. My hk usp 40 is a close second i must say.
If your new to shooting the .22lr caliber is a blast to shoot, you can kill a whole day at the range with one. The ruger mk3 is a fun one to take out plinking.
But any of the polymer wonder guns would be a good choice: glock, xd(m), hk, m&p etc.

To shoot just for fun.....
Auto would be a toss up between colt woodsman match target 1st issue or sig trailside

Revolver, toss up with S&W K22 masterpiece or ruger single six bisley

Happy shooting.

Auto- I like my Glock 30

Revolver- SW 13 with .38 loaded up... Pachmayr grips, its a blast

but neither beats a nice .22 for a looong fun range day
