I’m filling out an electronic form 1 and have everything completed except the fingerprint part. I called my local sheriff department and they will fingerprint on a paper FD-258 card. Per the ATF electronic form 1 submittal web sight fingerprints must be as an ETF file.

I asked the girl at the sheriff’s department if I could be fingerprinted electronically and have it in an ETF file but she didn’t seem to know what I was talking about.

What is the proper was to go about gettin my fingerprints as an ETF file? It’s been quite a few years since I’ve submitted a form 1 or 4 and it seems a lot has changed.

Thanks,

Dan

You can send the fingerprint cards to the ATF with the submission letter you get when you submit the eform.......that's the way I proceeded, anyways..........I think you have 10 days from submission to complete that task.
This may, or may not, answer your question...............:)

I tried to copy the fingerprint submission letter I recieved, but I can't ....
I believe there is a section on the eform to check that you are mailing in fingerprint cards...

Supposedly some UPS stores and doctors offices that do department of transportation physicals will do finger print eft files.
The UPS store where I am does not do them at all and the Dr office that does "DOT physicals" says their electronic finger print rig doesn't work.
I just snail mail paper finger print cards.

The UPS store near my work does eft prints but not the one near the house so it's location dependent.

This is the service I used to do mine. https://printscan.com/Agencies/ATF

There is one 6miles from me I should call them and get this done. Sheriffs office is only like 10min away too.

Do you guys just drop it off, require a signature or something?

I went thru National Gun Trust to get my EFT file. NGT setup an appointment at a local independent UPS store, NGT was $60. Found out when I got there they charge $100 for the same service if I would of walked in. At the UPS store they fingerprinted me electronically and I had the file emailed to me before I left the store.
