Just got word, the examiners at the ATF NFA branch are 90% sure that they will not be working if FedGov shuts down in a few weeks.

Bubbles is referring to the possible federal government budget crisis that seems to be the big news story of the moment. If a budget agreement isn't reached by March 4th, many federal programs will go on hold.

Yeah the ATF is shutting down, and there are people out there who still have water stowed from Y2K...

FedGov will get a 2 week extension before the real possibility of a "non-essential" service shutdown takes place. After that 2 week extension it is expected that the parties will have had their temporarily satisfying "fright" and work out some sort of exchange of budgetary prisoners to approve a final budget only 4 months after the FedGov fiscal year.
