I’m just wondering if you can ship two different rifles bought from two different sites to one FFL? I bought a rifle of guns.com and had it set to FFL near me without knowing the transfer price (I know my mistake). So this whole time I had that order placed to go there I found a good deal on another rifle on Vance outdoors (I was in the market for two rifles anyway) so I placed that order to a different FFL becuase i found out the price of the other so I chose
To do this one differently. After that I called the first order I placed (guns.com) and asked to change the FFL to the place I put the Vance order to. He asked why and I told him the truth I never knew the price then found out it was 60 whereas the other place I’m trying to change it to is 20. So he said he could change it and changed it to that but I’m just worried when I go to pick up both they are gonna be suspicious of why I bought two rifles? Or is that even a thing?

No worries.

FFL *shopping* is not a problem as long as the seller still had it in hand and all the paperwork is in order and he didn't have to intercept the shipment. Even then, it's only a hassle.

Todd.

Is who going to be suspicious? Your FFL? Or the ATF?
Far as I know you can buy as many rifles at one time as you want. Someone knowledgeable will correct me. But if you buy 2 or more handguns at a time they have to take an extra step or notify someone or some crap.

Why would he? Not seeing the issue here
well I know there’s a thing with buying a couple handguns I didn’t know if long guns are the same way that they have to do something with the ATF or whatever

There’s no reporting requirement for long guns, and even if you do hit the reporting “button” for handgun purchases, nothing bad happens.

The reporting requirement is for anyone buying two handguns within 5 days - but consider this - how many of us buy pairs of single action revolvers together? I know I’ve been reported somewhere over 20 times in the last 15-20yrs, hasn’t even slowed me down for NFA stamp applications, let alone NICS checks. It’s not a crime to buy multiple guns in short time. It’s not even a crime to regularly purchase high numbers of firearms. It’s ONLY a crime to straw purchase and “traffic” firearms without a license - at most, someone looks at it, sees that I bought 6 Glocks on one order, sees that I bought 4 J frames on another, three LCP’s on another, hmm, no indication of a crime, move on...

Transfer on multiples is typically a bit cheaper. Some folks will intentionally wait to pick up if they plan multiple purchases so that they do paperwork one time.

my local guy charges 15 per gun and 10 for the background check. So 1 gun is 25 to him and 2 is only 40, so it’s not a huge cost swing but it’s enough for folks buying stuff for kids/grandkids/multiples.

I have it on high authority that local gun shops would love it if you bought multiple firearms, even if not from them.
After all, they sell supplies for the firearms and new firearms need ammunition and accouterments. ( The real money isn’t in the guns...)

You are normal. Continue to be.:)

I've had three firearms and two receivers, from 4 different sellers on the same 4473 for the same price ($20) as when I just picked up one at a time.

On a side note, being local to Vance's they're good people. I bought my first gun ever from their original location.

I recalled this particular transfer I took last year - I had bought a shotgun on gunbroker for my son, another Toklat on gunbroker, and ordered another Ruger New Vaquero 45 acp/colt convertible directly through the shop’s website. The Form 4 for my Warlock II came through about the same time, so I had planned to pick everything up on one day (hour and a half drive to my FFL/SOT). When I arrived, to pick up two handguns and a long gun, my FFL asked if I had interest in some new Ruger AR-556 lowers, as he had ordered a dozen, and 5 came with sequential serials - and after almost 20yrs of selling me firearms, he knew I’d want them. Not wanting to break up the set, I bought all of them, and an 8lb jug of H4350. He waived the $25 transfer fee because of the other direct firearms purchases, and because I’m a KS CCHL holder, I walked out without even a NICS check, having put a suppressor, two handguns, 5 “other” (receivers), and a long gun all on the same 4473. He had to send his notice to the KBI and FBI for two handguns in less than 5 days, but the sky didn’t fall, as it never has any time I’ve had the FBI informed I was buying more than one handgun (I’ve bought lots of pairs of revolvers, as in like 30 pairs, in the past also). Nobody even gets notified when you buy a lot of long guns.
