My friend somehow managed to break his slide on his mother's FIE Titan pistol. I haven't been able to find out much about these pistols...everything I find is almost a contradiction to previous information I've researched. Soooo....

I have found slides, from $20 to up to $50.
Only problem is, what in the hell does "E28" and "E27" denote? I know that they were made with steel and aluminum frames, could this be the frame material?

Would an "E27" slide work on a marked "E28" frame?

I know...it's a POS .25 auto, but this gun has sentimental value here. No hating...:neener:

There are at least three variations according to Numrich Gun Parts, machined to fit the firing pin differently. I think externally they are very much the same.

These were mfg. by Tanfolglio, and are actually pretty well made.

Problem is you have to take apart the slide to figure out which model you have, then cross reference and HOPE they still have a spare.

Took me 2 tries to get the right firing pin for the one I ended up with.

I have one of the Tanfoglio GT-27s in .25 auto, which is a clone of the Titans. (Or vice versa). They're actually pretty neat guns and I've been looking at getting some pink grips so my daughter will have a fun plinker (even though it's expensive to feed .25 auto!)

I've seen them at gun shows for about $100-$150, so tell your friend just to buy one with a good looking slide, replace his mom's, and then keep the rest for extra parts. If he doesn't go that route, and it has sentimental value, then tell him to fix it and quit shooting it.

That's what he's going to do.

Apparently the slide was not fitted correctly on the rails after he had fired 1 shot through it. The second shot broke the front of the slide (the part that fits under the barrel I think) and the rest flew off and hit him on the nose.

I'll get to take a better look at it Saturday...will post pics of the damaged slide either that night or Sunday.
