I have completed all the knives ordered, which was quite a few. I fell bad because the only people to actually receive their knives are ones who ordered kydex sheaths. I asked the leather guy by PM on Saturday if anything was coming and haven't even got an answer so we wait.

I am holding knives for Bragood, Meef and one other customer because they ahve different Kydex sheaths and I'm going to send them for pics. Hopefully these will be in Blade magazine! I was going to wait for a leather sheath but I'm done waiting and off these go.

I do believe in the next 2-4 weeks all these will be done and delivered.

Got mine the other day, a nice solid knife. I hope to take it on a hog hunt. I'm thinking it should leave a nice big triangle in the side of a hog.

Don - If you feel badly enough, you could always throw in an extra 'short fighter' into the box when they ship. ;)

Valk, you are always going around posting these things......

You are just trying to get me to spend gun money on knives aren't you...

They look great, and I am thinking more and more about it.

Don,

If leather is the problem, feel free to substitute Kydex for my order... no need to worry about that kind of stuff.

I'll be the fussy guy who wants what he wants. :D

I can wait for a leather sheath. Kydex never has been too special to me, but if the leather guy delays much over another month, I may simply go for kydex and make a leather sheath myself.

Lee, that's great but he's had your knives for some time. Nothing to do but wait on those. I have sent a few to a new place and we'll see how that goes. I still have knives building up on my desk here that I don't know what to do with.

OK, Don, thanks for the update, no hurry. It's no big deal either way, long as our check was good it's all good 8^) .

We actually had a check bounce last week for $200 and I was going crazy because the wife assumed it was a customer of mine. We found out it was from her son's roommate for partial rent at our other house. No more checks from him, but no checks I've ever taken have had any problems.

Here's the latest from my "tester" - he's put his Fighter through hell! Then he gave it to a guy who flipped it in the air and it bounced off an anchor chain and went into a tank on the ship they were salvaging! This knife has a Gun Kote finish and so far that's the only thing he's been able to damage. :)

Don told me to work it hard and dont be afraid to abuse it so I could let him know if it had a weakness or a limit that was easy to find and so far the closest I have found to a 'weakness' in it is that if you bounce it off of anchor chain, soak it in toxic goo for the better part of a week, expose it to degreasers and such as a break from daily abuse as a prybar/chopper/metal punch/rope cuter and kitchen knife then the gun coat finish starts to show some wear and you may have to do a little extra sharpening on it since after I sharpened it the 'nick' in the blade is now gone and aside from scratches in the finish or caracter coloring of the micarta handle, its the same as the day it arrived. Gotta love a tool you can abuse and it just begs for more!

Sweet. :D

The leather sheathmaker was supposed to send 5 back that I should get today and he had 5 more in the works. Hopefully I can start sending them out soon.

I recently received my fighter.

:what:

Oh my, oh my.

For those of you who have been thinking about maybe, perhaps, one of these days, sometime getting a knife from Don - you are not doing yourself a favor by putting it off.

The workmanship is superb, the feel and balance of my knife surpasses my ability to describe it here. Words won't do it justice - you have to see it and hold it. I consider it perhaps the best purchase for the money I have ever gotten on a blade.

This one is a "forever" keeper. And I expect that's just about how long it will last. I hope my heirs will enjoy it as much as I do. And their heirs. Etc., etc.

You can spend more, but you can not touch it for the value.

As to dealing with Don - top drawer all the way. It doesn't get any better.

Did I mention my knife is absolutely beautiful?

:D

Hey guys who have them how about pics of both sides of the kydex sheaths. I prefer IWB blade forward so I was wondering how these worked. Thanks

I should be getting my Fighter this week/weekend... I'll post pics and a quick overview once I get it. :)

(And, I'm doing an impatient kid at Christmas dance)

Thought I had posted, guess not. :)

Excellent knife, got mine in the mail and LOVE it! Good size, heavy enough and very fast blade. I have small hands and the handle fits great! In fact, the handle seems to fit all.

Thanks Valkman!

Mine arrived about 15 minutes ago... :D

Big, heavy, shiny, sharp as all get-out, and it looks to be built to last forever.

The second picture, it's side-by-side with my SOG Flash II, which is my EDC knife. I used to think that was a well-built, thick bladed working knife. Yeah. Right. :D

It's been proven by my "tester" that these knives will take anything and keep going with maybe a sharpening, so get to it! :)

Can do. I'll be doing field testing this weekend in Pike National Forest. :D

I'm not really able to think of anything within reason I could do with/to this knife that it would break... anything I can think of that would break it involves taking other tools and intentionally breaking it.
