Figured out the headstamp....

On my 7.62x39 ammo..

bxn 69. So its S&B ammo from 1969.. which throws up the perennial question...

Is it corrosive? If so do I just follow the BP routine for cleaning?

Windex, pacthes.. Soap and Hot Water.

Dry, Oil and spray liberally with WD 40.

I would go beyond the BP cleaning routine with the corrosive-primed cartridges.

While the BP residue is entirely water soluble, the corrosive salts from mercuric primers are not necessarily so.
The WWII USGI corrosive primer cleaner is cheap, available at any gun show, and chemically neutralizes the corrosive salts.

I learned the lesson after ruining the bore on a S&W 25 by shooting the USGI WWII 45ACP ammo, and assuming that the hot water would dissolve the residue.
The ammo was headstamped EC43 (Evansville Chrysler) - horribly corrosive!

Afy, the OP doesn't live in the U.S.A.

He may have a hard time finding GI bore cleaner at a gun show.
He may even have a hard time finding a gun show.

I wish I could find a gun show at the least...
I sprayed with Windex. Swabbed it dry.
Couple of patches of Dishwashing liquid, and tons of hot water. Swab dry.
Hoppes Bench Rest/KG-1, Lighter fluid etc. Swab completely dry. Couple of WD40 patches, couple of oil patches, and a liberal coat of WD40 on everything.
Gun hasnt rusted as yet... fingers crossed.
