I've been waiting for three months now,,,
The Evil Pawn Shop Guy finally came through for me.

Meet Ruth.

I picked it up over my lunch break,,,
Now the really hard wait for the weekend when I can shoot her,,,
I bought this pistol to pair up with a Raspberry SR-22 I purchased a while back.

Meet Idgie.

They aren't quite the exact match of rimfire/centerfire that I usually go for,,,
But the SR-22 proved to be a dream to shoot,,,
So was my friend's LC9 that I fired,,,
I just couldn't resist buying them.

There goes my tax refund for this year.

Hello osteodoc08,,,

Not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the appeal.

I hear ya my friend,,,
I was just getting tired of black/blue guns.

So I figured what the heck,,,
Get something colorful for a change.

But the raspberry SR-22 was such a hit with the ladies I take shooting,,,
I thought the Lilac lady LC9 might have the same impact on them,,,
Whatever brings more ladies to shooting is good by me. ;)

I have an NRA LC9 that's camo. I figured they would start with the different colored frames at some point to reach out to other shooters.

Anything that brings more shooters into the fold is fine by me...

You sure will find it quickly if you happen to lose it in a coal mine.

What would be pretty awesome is if you could "custom order" out of a selection of colors, similar to how they're doing the cell phones and other electronics nowadays.

I can see an appeal for that. Can be that hard to custom color plastic. Or like the SR22, have different colored "sleeves" you could order online.

Color my wife very jealous of you. We've been on the lookout for one. She request you post a few more pictures and a range report. Thanks for sharing :)

Hello KevinB and osteodoc,,,

Color my wife very jealous of you. We've been on the lookout for one.

If you have a favorite LGS,,,
Ask them to start looking now.

My Evil Pawn Shop Guy had a standing order for near three months,,,
His distributors said Ruger just made a new run of the Lilac and Raspberry pistols.

I bought the only Lilac one he received,,,
But he still has a LC9 and an LC380 in Raspberry.

Here is a better picture of the pair,,,

Ya know that might be a coming trend with Polymer frame pistols,,,
Beretta has four different frame colors for their Nano pistol,,,
The serial number is on the action rather than the frame,,,
So you can swap out the 4 colors at your whim.

For a while they did the same thing with the grips for the NEOS pistol,,,
A friend has Black grips for himself and silver grips for his son,,,
His daughter has pink grips and the wife has red on hers.

They say it's the best way to know which gun belongs to who.

My wife wanted a pink LCP until she tried racking the slide on one. She ended up with an XDs 45 instead. Now I just have to remember to not remind her of Cerakoting. I love carrying that XDs sometimes, I don't think I could bring myself to carry if she goes and gets the slide Cerakoted pink. Might be a good thing that I'm planning on getting an XDs for myself.

Very nice. I might pick up a Raspberry SR22 for my wife or daughter to use. I just showed them your picture, and they both liked the LC9's color better. I hope they eventually make a Lilac SR22.

Actually, they do make a Lilac SR-22,,,

It's at this website address,,,
Hover your mouse over the bottom option,,,
The one labeled "purple polymer".

It's a Talo version,,,
Basically just a cosmetic thing that distributor thought would sell.

Ask your LGS to try finding one for you,,,
They really are great shooting little handguns.

Now that is a bright color.
I like it, but maybe not on my guns. :D

To keep my man card I have to go camo on my second LC9.

The LC9 is a terrific gun. In eight days I put over a 1,000 trouble free rounds through my first LC9. Now it's got about 2,000 trouble free rounds.

And there's no telling how many Wal Mart 550 bulk packs have gone through this SR22.

A comment that makes sense,,,

This is a comment from a different forum:

there is no chance of losing one in the woods.
I kid bro, to each his own.
They are kinda cool, but I prefer standard colors,
wouldn't want one of the kiddos to think it was a toy.

Most of the comments I have read have been good natured teasing,,,
But this one actually made some sense to me.

I can see a kid, who is used to seeing brightly colored toy pistols,,,
Thinking that this is brightly colored and therefore must be a toy as well.

My rifle & pistol club has a lot of family membership,,,
It's very common to see parents with their children on the line,,,
So far I've seen nothing but good controlled behavior from the parents/youngsters,,,
But I might want to keep a closer watch on the kids when I have Ruth and Idgie out on the table.

It also could be a non-issue,,,
But now that the thought is in my head,,,
I believe it would be prudent to pay attention to it.
