I was fortunate to locate a very nice S&W Model 18-3 to finalize the group of Masterpiece revolvers in my life. (The rare and elusive Model 16 .32 S&W Long is just too pricy to make it a full set for me.:()

All of these revolvers are shooters, none are mint condition safe queens, so I replace the original grips with ones that fit me better and take them out to shoot when I can. I still need to order a set of matching wooden fingergroove grips and replace the Uncle Mike’s set that came on the 18-3.

The 18-3 has a touch of muzzle wear and a cylinder turn line, other than that it’s about as glossy and clean a blued Smith as I’ve found.

I was hoping to shoot it today, but honey do’s took over so I won’t get a chance to take it out for about two weeks :(.

Here is the Masterpiece family... plus a cousin:

4” Model 15 .38, 6” Model 14 .38, 4” Model 18 .22, 6” Model 17 .22 and a 6” Model 48 .22 Mag.

:)

Stay safe.

Nice collection. Enjoy.

Now you need to get an 8-3/8" Model 14 and Model 17 and a 2" Model 15 to round out the collection.

A 32 S&WL K-frame is on my wish list but they are pricey. Only about 3600 were made from K-32's through Model 16-3. I've never seen one in the "metal".

I have a Model 16-4 (32 H&R Mag). About 8000 of 16-4's were made so they are a little bit more reasonable in price but they are not 32 S&WL.

The 4” Model 48 .22 Mag is next on my list. I had a line on a new “classic” version, but I got outbid. The price went so high for a new one I didn’t know if I wanted to get a locking version or keep looking and stick with the older ones. I finally decided to try and stay original if possible.

Stay safe..
