You have a strange definition of what 'does not work' means.

I still take issue with your contention about the object at rest. Clearly, the springs were strong enough to keep the latch engaged, negating the 'object at rest' argument.

Mechanically, the 3rd latch functioned perfectly.

In other words, it worked.

Just because it did not contribute to accuracy, strength, or durability does not mean it did not work.

It was discontinued from a cost standpoint, nothing else.

So, what's your point? Maybe it simply was part of the Triple Lock to showcase fine workmanship and let the original purchaser know they are purchasing a product that cannot be surpassed.

I am looking at my front door. It has 3 hinges. Would it fail miserably with the absence of the middle (third) hinge? Probably not.

Vern,

Do you currently own any Triple Locks? If you do and hate it or them, send me a PM. I would be interested in taking these dastardly creatures off of your hands.

Nope -- don't own any. But my point is, the triple lock added nothing to the gun -- other than making collectors of later generations get all sweaty and bleary-eyed.

so.... how does it shoot? a range report would be awesome at this point!
