My early Xmas present to myself is a British contract Smith and Wesson 1908 New Century. These are better known as the S&W Triple Lock. England ordered 5000 in 1915 for use in WWI, but the next order was for the Second Model Hand Ejector without the third locking lug. These were chambered in .455. These are pretty rare guns. This one is 42xx out of 5000 and joins two other Triple Locks in my collection as well as one British contract Second Model Hand Ejector.

Great taste in Triple Locks, and in such beautiful condition. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, she is not perfect but for her age she is quite nice. The grips are not correct but I have a correct set around here someplace.

Howdy

Very Nice. A Triple Lock is still on my Holy Grail list. I got skunked out of a beauty at an auction a few weeks ago. Absolutely pristine, 44 Special. I examined it at the viewing before the auction and I really thought I was going to go home with it. Unfortunately, when the bidding opened, the opening bid was already way out of my price range. The deep pocket phone bidders drove it up to $7500! A bit too rich for my blood.

Gotta keep looking.

I hate phone bidders.

They are indeed commanding some serious money these days.

Here is a shot with my other Triple Locks and with the British contract Second Model Hand Ejector at top. That was converted to .45 Colt. The other two Triple Locks are in .44 special.

Just a matter of haunting the gun shows, treasures turn up from time to time. Well the family is starting to stir so I best hop off. Merry Christmas to my fellow gun enthusiasts, may your day be blessed full of family and friends.
