I've owned pistols and revolvers for over 20 years, but they have almost always been "full-size" guns, with an occasional "compact" in the mix. Recently, I had been looking seriously at something I could carry in a pocket. For years, my supposed carry weapon has been a Kahr K9. Unfortunately, I seldom carried it due to its weight, and I disliked its lighter polymer-framed versions. While looking at the lately populous case of mouseguns at my local gun shop, I latched onto the S&W Bodyguard .380. For a "little" gun, it's rock solid, and it seems to have all the features of a much larger pistol. Finding one with a pretty decent trigger (the first ones I looked at had horrid triggers; they were so heavy I seriously thought the safeties were stuck), I bought one of the Bodyguards and took it home. Today, I finally got a chance to shoot it at the local indoor range. Wow! At appropriate ranges, I could easily dump all six rounds into the head or center mass of the silhouette target. Once I got a feel for the trigger, I could shoot quickly and still retain accuracy. Recoil was no problem. I also had zero malfunctions, even with a handful of Hornady XTPs I put through it. Now I'm loving this little thing. I'm looking forward o having a carry option that I'll actually be able to carry!

I too enjoy carrying the bodyguard and my pistol functioned flawlessly with a steady diet of FMJ. I gave the pistol to a neighbor the other day to bring him and his pistol into the modern era. I went back to my Sig P238, G42 or Kimber Micro for EDC, why? Because i like all of them and each is fun to shoot. I will undoubtably get another Bodyguard soon.

Good review, it sure does look little in pictures. Speaking of which.....

I'm happy with my no laser bodyguard. I did have a problem with one magazine follower not locking the slide back. S&W sent me a new one and fixed the problem. Trigger is heavy but the little pistol is not ammo sensitive and I like that. I agree with the accuracy once you become conditioned to the trigger.
