I finally got to the range to try my very first handloads in my CZ75 PO1. To reiterate to everyone, I was using Rainer 115 gr plated bullets with Winchester brass, CCI 500 primers, and Accurate #2 powder. I was worried, as the Accurate manual tells me to start at 4.7 gr, and mine were from a differant manual, so they were 4.0, 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4.
Well, the first batch, with the mistake rollcrimp,( I KNOW!), worked as poorly as I thought - jams 1 out of every three. Donated them to a guy who said he had a 9mm with sloppy chamber tolerances. Oh well.
Then I used the 4.2 gr loads. WOW. Perfect groups, two, 10 round one hole groups at 10 yards. Can't argue! Then tried the 4.3 grainers - more perfection, with a 25 yard group measuring 3 inches across! This from a standing position! Holy Hanna! Fired only 4 rounds from the 4.4 group, as Mrs. Armoredman was feeling poorly, and we had to leave, but the first ever handloads were GOOD! I feel much better about rolling another couple of hundered of the 4.2 or 4.3 loads tomorrow! WHOO HOO!!!! What a blast!!!! :D
I feel better - can you tell?

Pictures of me first learning what to do with a press, with a buddy helping - he goes by CZpreB on THR.

Hooked! :)

Don'tcha love it when a plan comes together? Sounds like your very first loads are very accurate - good groups. Of course, the CZ has a good reputation for that kind of accuracy with a wide range of ammo.

Aint it a HOOT??!!

Now comes the realllllly hard part....
resisting the temptaion to change/tweak/mess with/alter/improve the already bullseye loads!:)

Oh,you can try to resist, but so many powders out there to spend money on for that 'perfect' load.Talk about temptations!!:) :)

He is hooked now!!! Congratulations on your first successful adventure in reloading. I remember my first box of 50. They were 357 magnum cases stoked with cast 148 grain LDEWC and light charges of Bullseye. I fully expected them to explode even though I had read three reloading manuals and had been very careful in my reloading procedure. All 50 went off without a hitch and the accuracy wasn't bad.

Thats the man I love. When I was watching him shoot I saw little smoke come out of the gun. When I shoot some one elses reloads there is alot of smoke and I feel the need to wear a mask.

I would have tried the reloads out but I had a migraine. Next time I will try it. Way to go honey.

Not much smoke because Accurate # 2 burns fast. Be careful as not to double charge any cases. Good Luck!!!
