I finally got to the range to try my very first handloads in my CZ75 PO1. To reiterate to everyone, I was using Rainer 115 gr plated bullets with Winchester brass, CCI 500 primers, and Accurate #2 powder. I was worried, as the Accurate manual tells me to start at 4.7 gr, and mine were from a differant manual, so they were 4.0, 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4.
Well, the first batch, with the mistake rollcrimp,( I KNOW!), worked as poorly as I thought - jams 1 out of every three. Donated them to a guy who said he had a 9mm with sloppy chamber tolerances. Oh well.
Then I used the 4.2 gr loads. WOW. Perfect groups, two, 10 round one hole groups at 10 yards. Can't argue! Then tried the 4.3 grainers - more perfection, with a 25 yard group measuring 3 inches across! This from a standing position! Holy Hanna! Fired only 4 rounds from the 4.4 group, as Mrs. Armoredman was feeling poorly, and we had to leave, but the first ever handloads were GOOD! I feel much better about rolling another couple of hundered of the 4.2 or 4.3 loads tomorrow! WHOO HOO!!!! What a blast!!!!
I feel better - can you tell?
