Thompson, Pederson, Gatling, Sharps are some obvious ones. + Berthier, Hatcher-Bang or the M1922 Bang.

I’m starting to think I missed the question.

Was the OP asking about designs named for the designer or designs not named for the designer?

Pondering how firearms get named. If I were to create the next ground breaking firearm innovation....would I want my name on it? (ie: The "Rembrandt" 9mm.....or the "Rembrandt" line of rifles)

Perhaps some get named as a tribute to the designer?

Examples would be Colt, Browning, Boberg, Kalashnikov, Ruger, etc....

Can you think of designs that were not named after the creator?
The standard nomenclature system in the Soviet/Russian military has been to name the gun after the designer (or design bureau):

Fedor Tokarev
12,7mm Дегтярёва-Шпагина Крупнокалиберный 1938 года - Vasily Degtyaryov and Georgi Shpagin

The British tended to like that idea too:

Lee-Metford Rifle/Carbine - James P. Lee
Patchett SMG - George W. Patchett
Lanchester SMG - George H. Lanchester
STEN SMG - Reginald Shepard & Harold Turpin

The official nomenclature system for the Imperial Japanese Army was very similar to the US system except the year date was the year of the Emperor, and later the Imperial year*. So, it's:

Rifle, Type 38 (38th year of the Menji era, or 1905 AD)
Rifle, Type 99 (Imperial year 2599, or 1939 AD)

The Arisaka appellation is a western thing, and oddly enough the Type 38 "Arisaka" has has as much to do with Major Kijiro Nambu, than Colonel Arisaka Nariakira.
