First Handgun, What was yours? Mine was...

My first was a Ruger Mk I .22 LR with a 5.5" bull barrel. Absolutely
reliable, extremely accurate & inexpensive to feed. Lovely gun;
When it finally gave up (several internal pieces just broke) after - oh, possibly 20-25 years- I bought an new one, Mk II this time, and stainless.
Very, very disappointed in this one (especially accuracy-wise).
Or is it that "one never forgets the first time" ?

First one? The old Iver Johnson 55 Cadet .22LR revolver my Grandma gave me (it was her purse gun for a while).

First one I bought? My Smith and Wesson 620.

High Standard .22 revolver, double action, and will hold 9 rounds. It has a 4 inch barrel. I inherited it from my Grandfather and I still have it. Nice little revolver but not very acurate.

Ruger Mk1. I still have it and it still shoots wonderfully. My dad bought it for me hen I was about 7-8. We had just moved out to the country around Onion creek near Austin. I couldn't wait to start shooting squirrels and birds. Boy was I disappointed when my dad informed me that if he EVER saw me shoot at something without a solid back stop (such as a bird flying in the air) he would both tan my hide and sell the pistol.

A Colt 1911A with a 5 digit serial number (unfortunately arsenal refinished) that I got for $100 from a friend.

Still have it too! (right at 30 years now)

You always remember your first.

My first was a mint Bersa Thunder .380. Blued. Wood grips. Bought it for $100. Four months later I sold it for $150. Should have kept it.

beretta 21a, bought it when i was about 8 (well i gave the money, dad filled out the paperwork)

frekin little thing was a jam-o-matic, but i after a few weeks of jams, i did a little gunsmithing. she ran like a 1911ever sience child prodigy anyone?

My first was a Taurus 357, I think it was their copy of the S&W model 66 with a 4" barrel and stainless steel. It was a really nice gun and I shot it quite a bit. Finally I traded it and some cash for my 2nd handgun which I still have, a Colt King Cobra SS with a 4" barrel, that I absolutely love. I don't think I will ever get rid of my King Cobra, it was my first new handgun and it is really smooth... can't say enough good things about my King Cobra.

I was 18 when I got the Taurus, I traded my 10/22 and $100 for it. I bought it from a private party. At the time I didn't think about not being old enough to buy a handgun, the seller didn't ask me and I didn't mention my age. My Dad knew I was buying it, so if their had been a problem he would have completed it for me.

The first handgun I ever personally owned was actually my USP45 Tactical.

The first handgun I ever /fired/ was a Raven MP25. First handgun I ever carried was a blued 4" Taurus .38 spl revolver with wood grips. Both of these handguns are still kept in the house, the MP25 in a locked hardcase along with a Ruger Mk2, and the Taurus in the drawer of the nightstand in my father's room.

I actually already owned the USP when I first carried, but I did not have a holster for it at the time.
