The gun clubs - for all types of shooting- have never closed; we have registered shoots going on, league shoots etc.

I haven't shot one bird this year.
That is changing this week. Both clubs are open. I don't care if i only break 10.
Trap shooters seem to be the nicest and most welcoming people one could find in any sport or activity.

We farm on the same road as my home club twenty five miles from home. Mrs went past the club last week on the way to our field and saw they were shooting. I may try to attend Monday night.
I hurt shoulder in a truck wreck April 6th. I'm a bit reluctant, but hopefully my ol 870comp will be gentle. I may drag out the old 1oz bar for my mec.

Better than not shooting. You know you do have an 1100 Comp., too.
Yes it's a favorite too, but my 870 competition has a built in recoil reducer ya know.?
I finally got my 1100comp back from #1 after he broke his first 25x25 followed consecutively with his second 25x25 two years ago. I thought it was gone forever, but he finally returned it after snatching up a barely shot Beretta o/u. Hes a lefty so the 1100 was less than ideal.
I know you have one too!

my 1100 trap (recent manufacture) gets under my upper jaw and hurts. my buddy now owns it.
,,,, however my super x one trap grade has almost no recoil and a match trigger to boot. just saying for recoil sensitive shooters it is the one. (new haven made not the recent renditions.) dc.

Looks like you all had fun.

The club I belong to is opening the trap and skeet fields this next week with the summer skeet league starting. I'm looking forward to busting a few clays again.

If you want soft on the shoulder, reload some 3/4oz loads; I can shoot them all day long in either my Beretta or Browning; QUITE a difference between those running 1275 and the gold Nitro 1-1/8 running 1235

We, son 1 and i, shot last week for the first time this year. Miserable conditions. Derby format, call for a shoot time, show up, go to line shoot and leave. Kind of fun trying to recognize masked friends. Sixty shooters over the day and high score was a 41. My boy won $37 with a 23 and an 18. There is usually one 50 during the day.

2 weeks ago my wife and I took a ride to my daughters house in S. Carolina. While there we took out the old trap thrower and shot a few in the evening when my son-in-law came home from work. I forgot how much fun it was to see those clays explode.
I think we went to Academy in Anderson 3 times for more clays and shells! Luckily I brought my own shotgun with me along with some other hand held devices. This lockdown had me going nuts. Now that I am back home I feel better.

My regular club's leagues start up on May 28th, one month later than normal. The sad part is the SCTP shooting (which I coach) was cancelled for the year. There are two regional shoots in IA and OH, and the Nationals in OH, still scheduled, but none of our kids have shot this year-i doubt any will go.

I hate to say it, but I last shot back in October. Had a real busy fall and winter through the end of March and when I had time our gun club decided to close. Since most of the people that run in are volunteers that are over 70 years old, I can understand this, supposed to reopen end of May with masks required in clubhouse.

Seems I usually start off really good after not shooting for several months, even running a round or two, then the wheels fall off and I will start dropping easy targets.

Congratulations! I'm sure you missed it. I would. Glad to hear you had fun.

Social Distancing.

This was two weeks ago. We shot all winter. I think we had to shovel snow only twice.

When I saw @eastbank post about his beautiful club, I knew what I had to do Monday evening. I had to go check my northernmost fields, and shoot a couple of rounds with my old friends at Round Grove Sportsman's club.

I was happy with a pair of 24s. I havent shot since last June. I missed the first bird out both 25s. The first time , I realized I didn't put my shooting glasses on. I shouldered my gun and was looking square into the frame of my glasses. LOST!
The second 25 I had my shooting glasses on and I shouldered my gun thinking "that wont happen again...stoopid glasses"..LOST!

Oh well. It was fun. I'm happy with 48x50.

Our farm has expanded the last few years and I just haven't had much time for shooting. It was good to see my old friends again. Lots of handshakes despite the current environment.

I gotta get some 1oz wads ordered. My shoulder was ready to quit before I was.
I miss shooting. It seems like the only thing I'm good at.

I have a pigeon thrower and have shot a lot of clay birds with family & friends on our property. Very enjoyable times. I have never shot trap at a gun club. I am a member of a gun club but most of the events are handgun and rifle events. They may have 1 trap event each year but I have not participated.

Our spring skeet league started today, only about two months late. It was nice to break some targets again.

Florida gun clubs never closed, a nice touch compared to the blue states

Consider this an official invitation to round grove at martinsville.
Your probably not 25 minutes away.
I'll buy your first round!
Just dont look at my waterlogged cornfield nearby.
