Always a good idea to have a code word or phrase to put your people on alert.I'm not sure this is a smart response either.
My wife and I never eat out anymore but we had a rule that if either one of us told the other "I need a cigarette" (neither one of us smoke) we dropped whatever we were doing and left immediately. That would be an "I need a cigarette" moment.
Apologies in advance to those of you who are going to tell me how I'm not very civic-minded. But that would include being Witness. "I didn't see anything." "I didn't hear anything." "I have no idea what you're talking about."
WRT the poster whose family was approaching the store as the thieves were walking out, if they had any brains at all they turned around, went back to their car and left.
Well you go your way and I will go mine I have seen murphys law in action so do for you and yours the best way you can me/ I have been there and done that but you could tell the thugs that you post and give advice on the high road I imagine that might get you a pass good luckYou said you would "worry about that when it happens". To mount a reasonable response rapidly, it's important to "worry about it" in advance.Exactly. You would need to know that information ahead of time--which you won't if you wait until it happens to start thinking about it.
Who are you blah blahing at? If you attack people like that nobody's going to listen to youWell you go your way and I will go mine I have seen murphys law in action so do for you and yours the best way you can me/ I have been there and done that but you could tell the thugs that you post and give advice on the high road I imagine that might get you a pass good luck
I am not in the habit of giving free advice I have worked around too many who know what to do because they say so but when it hits they are looking at the 1st sergeant me and asking what do we do? Like I said murphys law is about what you get with the best laid plans you do what you gotta do there are way too many scenarios to map out a solution that covers all of itWho are you blah blahing at? Off topic. The question was about what one might do in the event of a flash mob robbery---not about what to do "against" a bunch of thugs.Reasonable response how so? WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO AGAINST 50 THUGS WHO DECIDE YOU ARE THE WRONG COLOR???? Will you tell them you post on the high road and you are ready for all situations good luck with that one buddy. Ever been in a real firefight that your squad just happened into?
387 posts and scanning over a few pages of them some kinda look like free advice.I am not in the habit of giving free advice
Correction: The subject has to do with a flash mob "hitting the store".Off topic. The question was about what one might do in the event of a flash mob robbery---not about what to do "against" a bunch of thugs.
One good option would be to get out of sight and/or out of the store as soon as possible. It would be useful to think about such things in advance so you can check on alternate exits and places in the store that would let you get out of sight until the "flash" is over with.WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO AGAINST 50 THUGS WHO DECIDE YOU ARE THE WRONG COLOR????
Again, it's not about "mapping out a solution that covers all of it", or even a bunch of solutions to cover every possible option, or even one detailed solution to cover some of it. The idea is to think about the situation in advance so that you can collect any information you might need ahead of time, have useful tools available to you, and so you can get started doing something potentially useful if things do turn ugly. You don't want to have to do all the decision making in the middle of a stressful situation, and if you haven't thought about it in advance, you will be at a disadvantage. People tend to make better decisions when they are not under a lot of stress. As they say in the military, PPPPPP....there are way too many scenarios to map out a solution that covers all of it.
The military trained you in advance so you would have some general principles to follow if you ever got into a firefight.Ever been in a real firefight that your squad just happened into?
