How difficult is it to swap a dropout floorplate for a box magazine. My customized FN needs one. Tired of that peice of wood spacer to make .243 rounds fit. Kinda makes the whole rifle seem rigged. Also anybody know a good adjustable trigger with a rocker style saftey so i can ditch the one on the bolt shroud. Its hard to work with a scope on. I have a Timney adjustable set at 3.5lbs right now, but would love to get a two stage.

A 98 Mauser has the feed rails machined right in the bottom of the receiver.
Converting to a detachable box magazine would have to either address that, or keeping the rounds in a detachable box magazine that didn't have feed lips.

Any number of safety systems can be had for scope use.
Timney, Jard, and others make a trigger with a side safety.

A couple of outfits make new bolt sleeves with side swing safety's like a Model 70.

There are also Low-Scope Buhler style safetys that convert you existing bolt sleeve.
