Folding stock alternative to the AR

A completely different kind of folding; won’t change the length but is barely there and then out of the way if you need it to be. $120 from Samson (those guys who make flip-to-side magnifier mounts).

That's cool. Trying to imagine a scenario where that solves a problem, though.

Mainly carrying slung up to keep a minimalist stock from hooking a chest rig or other gear. Of course it wouldn’t be at the ready but could still be fired as-is or deployed rather quickly and it might somehow shoehorn into an otherwise impossible space...it could happen.

Truth be told I had to scratch my head too but I like Samson gear and they happen to make the only gray M-LOK rail sections I could find to match my build. Well, I hope they match, I’ll know soon enough.

For those who are contemplating one of the Law Tactical hinges, Im going to suggest you try and find a gun with one installed and shoot it first.

I have one on one of my pistols, and while it works well at what it does, it has some issues, and one could cost you your teeth if your not careful, especailly if youre a "nose to the charging handle" shooter.

The problem is the hinge and the side it folds to. When you shoulder the gun, the hinge is right at your mouth, and if you try to shoulder quickly, and dont get it just right, it will smack you in the teeth. Even while shooting, it can get you with recoil. Ive had it happen both ways, and it wasnt plesant.

They would have done better having it fold to the other side. If youre a lefty, as it comes, it will work great.

They arent the only maker to do this. My son has a Shockwave shotgun with a similar type stock, just a bigger set up, and its even scarier with the heavier recoil.

You really do need to pay attention with them while youre shooting.

I got mine with some left over money from a couple of trades. They are salty, and if I didnt have the spare cash at the time, I probably wouldnt have bothered. I have no plans to get another.

I really havent found that the gun with the folder on it, is any handier than the others that dont have it.

As was mentioned, the thickness of the gun about doubles when folded. So while it is shorter, its also a lot bulkier, so there is a trade off. It might go into a shorter bag, but that bag also needs to allow for that extra thickness.

This is my one pistol set up with the Law Tactical.....

Prior to getting them, I always thought the folders were cool, and wanted one on most things. Once I got them, in each case, I found I rarely used the folding feature, and actually prefered the fixed stocks, especially when shooting.

The one exception to the rule here, and the stock I used to hate the most, was the AR "sliders", which Ive actually come to prefer now.

AK103K, what's the deal with the magazine in that rifle; is it a metal one enclosed in a sheath ...or ...what? :scrutiny: I've seen some unusual magazines - - - I own a few too, but I've never seen that.
Just curious.

Nice looking AR there too, by the way. ;)

It looked like a bit of tape to me at a glance but now I'm curious too.

Also

Hi apparently we've met because I am completely that shooter.

He has one on the 'spare' slot and no mag in the well. It's one of the rigs that holds a spare mag right next to the well for a quick reload.
BTW, thanks for the honest review, AK103K. I have been looking at them for a while for my 7" pistol, but I am indeed a nose on the charging handle type, so I think I'll pass.

That is a really nice looking pistol, BTW!

A known drawback of the Korean Daewoo K2 is the 180 degree factory safety. There's a 90 degree aftermarket safety, and that's a must-have improvement.

The K2s that came in during the AWB as the DR200 had a 90 degree safety.
