The artist is Alan Pollack. He's not a gun guy, but is great at fantasy stuff. He wanted to get the guns correct though, so I sent him a bunch of photos of the guns that were in this one specific scene.
The 870 came out pretty darn good. The M14's scale is a touch off, but that's all good considering artistic license.
As a writer, it is pretty darn neat to see a scene from your imagination rendered into a painting. Not at all how I pictured it, but I've got to admit that I'm loving it.
