I was at my LGS in Feb, they had moved and had a new sign on the front door. I took a pic and just now came across it and realized I hadn't sent it in. Don't know what the recent events may have been, so I won't even guess. I thought it was neat since many people were still wearing masks.

That would be a store I'd avoid.

Why?
My take is that the store operator wishes to prevent the use of a mask by a person of ill intent, as in crime commission. Bad guys do not like to be identified.
The business that would give me pause is the print shop that made the sign without proofreading.

Something similar to consider... Years and years ago as a young cop down here in south Florida, working the street in uniform... I could always spot the visitors from England (and similar places with serious gun control). The kids in the family would be pointing out my sidearm to their parents (and I'm guessing that it wasn't something they were used to seeing at all...). A few years later I was married in London (don't ask.. ) and noted that you rarely ever saw an armed officer over there. My spouse (still putting up with me more than forty years later...) pointed out that maybe one in five or one in six of their officers were armed - but always carried very carefully concealed even in uniform... so you never knew which was which.

I imagine from what I've seen on the tube that these days in London you not only see quite a few armed officers - but a fair number are very well armed with MP-5 and similar gear.... Not a lot of good things to say about these times from this corner...

Simple self interest. I am not going to enter ANY store these days without wearing a high quality mask.

You need to read the whole sign again.
That's totally irrelevant.

I don't care what the proprietors reasoning might be, I will simply not enter any store that tells me I cannot wear a mask. I will not bother to try to contact them to allow them to make some arrangement. I just won't buy from them.

Period. End of story.

Certainly your prerogative. And that's how America should be. They have the right to post that sign, and you have the right to not like it and decide not to patronize them.

Ahhhh, freedom.

Pfeh on the spelling. BFD.

But that sign has the flavor of a stiffnecked response to the whole mask-no mask issue: "Here's my opinion, like it or not, and up yours" with an implied "up yours," notwithstanding the offer for accomodation.

But looking at it as a general thing, that kind of self-righteous attitude, if it encounters the opposite self-righteous attitude, is what can escalate to higher levels of turf-pawing.

That.... is why I have no bumper stickers or other indicators stating what ignorant jerks Leftists are.

Terry,
I read your post then went back and reread the sign in the OP. It seems to me that the store operator communicated his policy in a civil fashion, without any judgmental statement , even going so far as to say that those who require a mask will be accommodated in some way.

Is this still a “vote with your feet” free society?
