Looking to get an M17 considering they are back in stock and prices have come down.
My questions:
1- I'd like to use my suppressor, so I have found a threaded bbl on their website. Reasonable price, I think. But for sights, I'd have to get a mountable dot sight, to see over the suppressor, correct me, please, if I'm wrong.
2- They have "M17 Caliber X-Change conversion kit" available for ~$550, but I can't make sense of this. I'd like to convert my 9mm M17 to shoot .40 S&W, also with a threaded barrel. Is this possible?
Thank you in advance, I appreciate any feedback.

1. Yes, you'd have to mount a red dot as the M17 front sight isn't tall enough and the rear sight is also part of the optic plate, so you lose the rear anyway. You could buy a different slide with taller sights..

2. The M17 X-change kit converts an M18 to an M17, not exchange calibers. Sig doesn't offer much of anything in .40 anymore. Sig has never offered an optic cut slide for .40 which you'd need as a .40 barrel won't fit in a 9mm slide. They also haven't offered a threaded .40 barrel either.

Just an FYI here on the sights. If you use three dot night sights, and shoot both eyes open, you really dont need suppressor sights, and can easily "shoot through" the back of the suppressor.

It works the same as shooting with the front cover on your red dot closed. Your strong eye sees the sights, your weak eye the target, and your brain does the rest.

These were shot at around 10 yards. The suppressor blocks the sights on both guns.......

not true. It will convert any 9mm, 40 and 357 sig to the m17. Only one it will not fit is the 45 acp. It includes everything but the chassis. I have a few of the kits.

You can't convert a 9mm M17 to a .40.... which is what he asked about.

You can get a full 40 cal conversion kit or a new slide and barrel assembly. That will convert any commercial m17, m18, p320 and p320c into a 40. So, in theory, the m17 can be converted. I have done it.

I first got the "M17" FDE without the safety, then bought a 40 S&W Caliber X change kit for $316 from Gritr sports (I was on a "notify me" list and jumped on it when I got the notification). The 40 S&W kit was all black and did not have an optic cut out so I got it machined at a local gunworks shop for $125. The 9mm barrel fits in the 40 gun and it works flawlessly with 9mm mags as does the complete slide assemblies.
I later bought a separate FCG for the 40 so that I don't have to disassemble the guns to move the FCG over.

I appreciate the replies, gentlemen. We have acquired the M17 are are really enjoying it. My handloads work flawlessly in it, which is great compared to the tight tolerances of my CZ 75 Omega, where most handloads stick tightly. It's also slightly more accurate than the CZ. Factory and HL...
