Would be a bitter pill.
Would I keep my “likes”, or would I keep my “needs”?
Glock 9mm - capacity, durability, ease of maintenance by a non-specialist. LEGO gun. Part of me would rather keep a .357 revolver, though. Just can’t do it if this is it forever, though, unless the GLOCKs are on the ban lists. Then it’s a .38 or .357.
Centerfire bolt action with at least 400yds of range- I live in the desert southwest. If I’m going to get to hunt deer and elk, I need a real hunting rifle. Winchester Mod 70 FWT, .270.
One AR lower with multiple uppers is a good idea, unless they are “registered” or on a ban list. Short iron sighted carbine 5.56, scoped longer barreled 5.56, 16” 6.8 as secondary hunting rifle. If banned, then I’d keep my Marlin 1894 .357. Might keep it instead anyway - secondary, close range hunting rifle. Loading can range from quiet and low recoil .22 replacement/superior, up to heavy Magnums that will kill a car or deer or even an elk or cow at closer ranges. Still debating that. Kinda feeling the logic either way.
Shotgun. 12g Ithaca 37. Birds, rabbits, HD. I’ve put a lot more animals on the table with a shotgun than anything else.
Gonna tick me off if I have to do this.
I like Rex’s ideas a lot, though I don’t think I’d do without a shotgun.
