I've heard from a few folks on the "inside" in DC that the city attorneys are encouraging the Mayor & City Council NOT to appeal this ruling, because they know they'll lose. The city attorneys are scared of what a USSC ruling will mean.

So, since we gun owners want this case to go forward, should we call in as "anti's" and demand an appeal?

I agree with you 100%. We WANT the case to go forward. For that very reason, we should call our representatives and tell them NOT to vote for any bill that would override the DC gun ban. WHY? Because if that is done legislatively, the case will become moot and neither the 3rd Circuit (en banc) or the Supreme Court will hear the case - in fact, it'll be dismissed for failure to state a claim, and the phenomenol opinion that came down 1 week ago will cease to be part of the legal record.
