I had a great time as well. I got to sample the German police pistol collection that cslinger and sheslinger brought as well as the 1911s and CZ97 that SolomonShort brought.

It was good to finally find some folks who liked my USP9:p

I got to talking to the two young fellas down on the end shooting the HiPoint and Storm carbines. I asked them if they had heard about the AWB in MD coming up for a vote and they hadn't. Naturally I pointed them here for the definitive info for fighting the ban.

Wish I had known that was DorGunr hangin' out there in the store, I would have gone out to chat sooner.

Ya'll are good folks.....lookin' forward to the rifle outing in March. Maybe I'll have some new toys by then.

Norton (the REALLY tall one) :D

Glad it went well guys ..... sorry I couldn't meet ''Les Slingers'' at that last shoot. Wish it wasn't so damn far to get there!

Do hope tho to try hardest to get down for March 14 ... if at all possible.

P95....good thing is that Westminster will be at least 30 minutes closer to you than Continental. If your collection of long guns is anything like your handguns.....I REALLY want you to come:D

I didn't shoot (too tired) but I got to meet some very nice folks....Norton, ''Les Slingers'' , Soloman Short, Spot77.......if I've forgotton anyone, please forgive me. Hopefully I won't be so tired next time. I want to make it to Westminster......got a couple of rifles and a couple of pistols that I haven't shot yet.........:)

Norton .. well yeah it does seem closer . only thing is getting there .. which might still well be easiest via R 70 .. and again use Beltway but turn off earlier to head North on 795 to pick up 140. Bit roundabout.

If I head east on, say . Turnpike . then it seems a tad more fiddly heading down on, shall we say .. 140 South. Anyways ... we'll get round that.

Aha ... so long gun oriented this time ... hmmm ....

Well, just got a Hakim .. and mega qty's of 8mm ... if that shoots OK it'll be fun for all I think!

Otherwise ..... hmmm .....

L1A1
M77 II in 223
44 and .357 levers
9mm camp
AK
Norinco and/or Yugo SKS
Revamped Turk (on the fugly ATI stock .. a la Steyr)
Naggant (tho Slim will have his I expect)
Jungle Carbine .. and plenty of ammo! (extra padding advised!)
Ishapore Enfield in .308 . (not overly accurate as yet)
Mini-14
Savage 99C in .243 (sweet!)
Marlin 60
Marlin Papoose
Mauser Obendorfe (.22lr)

Guess that's probably about it ... tho I think Contender might have to come too with .223 barrel ... then the cannons might need excercised ... hahaha ... the old dilemma.

Question comes to mind ... how close can one get the truck? This gear is awful heavy .... or should I bring the dolly again? :D

The l1a1 is a FAL right? You must bring it...You must! I have to shoot it. Ill be bringing some fun toys for the day.

AR15
Nagant
Mini 30
!2 gauge 870 with Slugs.

BTW, the westminster range allows only Slugs.

It was a good time. Sorry i didn't get to meet you DorGunr- by the time I came out, you were just leaving.
I can definitely say I could use a bit more practice but hey, that means we have to get together more often, eh? ;)
The help I got from you guys (especially my range buddy SolomanShort) was really great! I wish Dave (ANApex) could always be there with me to give me tips but its gets hard with the kids. Maybe ya'll could get me so good at shooting that I can out-shoot Dave. :neener:

Yep ... L1A1 Jim is sorta FAL but ''inch'' ... FAL is metric (FN FAL, Belgium). Looks like as predicted I can leave Naggant, that's good. .... you got enough 7.62 x 54R? .. tho I haven't got a huge stock come to think on it.
870 with Slugs
Hmmm ... I'm told snails are way more fun! :p :D

It all depends of course on actually making the hike .. but hope so.

A little competition can be a hardy thing. :D

I certainly enjoyed myself, I just hope I wasn't too preachy or intrusive, Girl, I don't know it all and I know that I am sometimes too willing to pass along my knowledge. You really were doing well, if you want, here is a link that you may find useful and interesting about handgun shooting, it is Rob Latham's lessons as seen on American Shooter (some of which I also have taped if you're interested). http://www.americanshooter.com/Features/features.html

'Slingers, I got a chance to shoot you HK, Sig, and Walther; that HK P7 is certainly the tack-driver everyone says it is. My Colt seems to be rather popular, I know I'm very happy with it.

Spot & Norton - always a pleasure, gents.

DorGunR - an honor to meet you sir.

I am looking forward to the outdoor shoot in March. I have a Yugo SKS that I am sporterizing (cringe-okay, that's over) and need to zero the sights. I've dumped enough American made parts for it to be legal, removed the bayonet, got a Choate stock for it, and have Williams fire sight and aperture sight on it.

I've been trying to talk myself into a Yugo M48A as the next purchase, but with everything going sideways and downhill, I keep coming back to an FAL, perhaps the carbine from Ohio Rapid Fire (have heard very good things about that shop). Must get money sqaured away first, though.

Ta-Ta for now.

Oh no! Help! I just realized since I shot the guns, I have to clean them *gulp*. Umm, I think I am allergic to Hoppes.
Thanks for the link, SolomonShort! Believe me, you weren't too preachy at all- I appreciate any help I can get!

P95....

I'll have my bone stock Yugo with me so you can scratch yours off the list (that way there's room for other stuff!).

I'll put a vote in for the L1A1.....along with the Garand, that's the purchase that I have my eye on next.

SolomonShort.....bring that Yugo for sure once you get it set up. I've been thinking about getting another Yugo to "pimp out" for a while now.

1 word: bore-snakes-are-a-wonderful-thing and hoppe's-makes-a-wonderful-perfume/colgne. Okay, it's actually one and a half words.

I just remembered that I also have Gunsite's Tactical Pistol 1 video.

Sorry I couldn't be there with you all. Sounds like a fun time, and I'd love to get together with you guys and of course, love the shooting (goes without saying), but of course it was shabbos and G-d comes first. Oh well.

Anyway, our last MD shoot had a pretty good turnout, sounds like on short notice this got a good turnout and the next MD shoot sounds like it has some interest. If the rifle shoot turns out as well as it sounds like it will, I'm thinking that MD THRers may be up for a monthly regular meet. Maybe a shoot every other month and a social/political get together every other month in between the shoots. Of course we could also simply do a monthly shoot too.

Chaim,

We missed you but March 14 is only 3 weeks away......

You read my mind on the social/political get togethers. Have the shoots is, of course, awesome....but as we invite new shooters out we need to keep them informed of how important it is that they be involved in the legislative process if they want to keep exercsing their right to shoot.

Besides....I like to eat...and this would be a good excuse to sample some different places around the area:D

Hmmm,
Maybe a shoot every other month and a social/political get together every other month in between the shoots. Of course we could also simply do a monthly shoot too.

Sounds like the making of a club, ever consider trying to use the Marriottsville facility as a base? I have no idea how a new club is implemented there, or if it's even possible. It's the only place around that has the space the ranges and the club house. Hap Baker is only 10 lanes, you can wait hours on a busy day.
Crazy
