I am waiting for my CPL, eventually I will get G26 but for now all I have is G17.
I was trying to walk around the house with it to see what kind of carry works best in concealability, comfort and ease of use / access. I have the cheap plastic Glock holster. It's actually not bad but the open barrel design isn't going to work for me.
So, after much experimentation, I think the IWB is out of question, at least not with the gun that size. What I found worked best for me was OWB on the strong side, at 3-4 o'clock, gun close to body (holster between the belt and jeans), slightly canted forward. I can comfortably sit with it and it hides well.
I don't want to spend a lot at this point - $50 tops. Would prefer a holster that's easy to take off without taking the belt off, covers the barrel, provides good retention, no prefs for material. Don't like the idea of SERPA. I never used a paddle holster so no idea how it feels; looks like a clip would be more comfortable.
I was looking at Safariland holsters, seems like they have several different designs that are moderately priced and could my criteria, any suggestions / alternatives ? Looks like either 6378 or 7379 could work (not sure if 7379 can be canted). Thanks !
