g30 recoil spring / chamber support

Not to long ago my g30 suffered a cracked frame due to a KB. Glock replaced my g30 frame and recoil spring. I don"t remember my original recoil spring looking this ... Anyone has one of these ?

My G30 RSA has a dark inner sleeve and the ones in my G26 and G27 are indeed shiny. However the forms are the same; that's how I interpreted the question: old style single spring vs. new style dual spring.

They are on their 10th spring revision or so since g4's came out. So yeah, it likely is different.

Could the old spring be the reason my g30 fired out of battery causing frame damage ?

No clue? the revisions were to try and quell ejection issues. I would drop a new bullet in the chamber and see if its supported under the ramp.

Chamber support on my g30...

You mean lack of.. Hard to tell from the angle, but It appears to have no support past the webbing, hence the blown out case in the above picture. It's not the first glock to do this nor will it be the last. I would pick up another barrel (KKM) or see if glock will replace it with one that has more support.

yup... lack of... I'll look for a KKM or simply trade it for something else..

I replaced my G30 recoil spring assembly recently, and the new ones do look like the one you have. The older ones were different.

I only replaced mine since the metal disk on the end of the recoil spring assembly that contacts the barrel lug was badly bent. I noticed it after a range trip where I had my first and only FTF with the G30. I think most people replace them after 3000 rounds or so. I had about 2000 at the time.
