I tried several red dot scopes on my G40 and there are issues with the screws being too long, or the wrong thread. Trijicon RMR won't work without the special kit with a special sealing plate and shorter screws. The kit isn't available yet.

I took the gun to a shop for help since I thought they knew more than I did. They tried to install a scope using too long screws and they broke the adapter plate. Yeah they'll get me another one.....

Some scopes like the Deltapoint have the battery exposed on the bottom and thus require some sealing membrane I think.

Question, has anyone successfully mounted a scope with the stock materials that came with the scope? IOW is there one I can buy without having to customize screws or order extra stuff? I'd prefer either no battery or a scope I don't need to remove to change the battery.

Thanks!

Ace Hardware has the screws you need.

If they're still too long. Put a nut on the screw all the way down. Then Dremel or grind off the tip of the screw. Bevel slightly, and remove nut. The nut straightens the threads out, that were ruined by the Dremel. Harbor Fraughts dremel tool is better than the brand name one IME.

No idea on the plates. I haven't played with them. But you can read this:

Some have sealed under the sights with black Permatex.

Thank you for the info. I didn't realize at the outset that this would be so problematic. What happened to "Glock Perfecton"?
