Gamo Whisper help

Anyway, I did return the Gamo to my buddy. He was thrilled.
Put 5 shots in the bullseye at 10 or so yds and you could
only see 3 holes all touching each other with the 7.9 gr Crosman Premier Super point Hunting Pellets.

Something came overnight and took away the dead chippy. Wife didn't take it and throw it over in the tree line with a shovel.
Do opossum eat dead chippies? I think we have one of those around here. Either that or a crow found it first thing this morning. Got a lot of those.
The cat has been in the house so it didn't get it.

Hmmm... I think that bucket looks just a little too small for that mouse. They can jump all the way to the top of a five gallon bucket. Don't ask me how, but unless that bucket thing has several inches of water in it that varmint lived to see more peanut butter.

I especially like how he rolls the bottle clockwise and then decides to get on top of it anyway!

I could sit here and watch that mouse fall for an extended amount of time!

Glad to hear GAMO hasn't declined in quality too badly!

Possums will eat most anything they find so, yeah- a possum could have recycled the chipmunk. Or a stray cat, dog, coon, coyote, fox, wolf, weasel, etc. depending on the locale.

My experiences with the "trick" alloy pellets have been uniformly bad. Finding what your rifle wants to shoot will be more than half your battle, and lead pellets will be more effective on game in any case. I'm looking at a Gamo pretty hard for vermin control, so I'll be following this thread closely.

My suggestion for anyone would be to look at the reviews on a particular air rifle ( before you buy) at a place like Pyramid Air or Airgun depot. First, their guns are generally of better quality and often the same or cheaper.) Second, you get honest advice on real world performance .
That said, Gamo does have allot of hit or miss with performance . Some shoot well. Many do not.
My recommendation for a "springer" today would be for a Benjimin/Crossman NP Trail with a gas piston.

ANY high power springer is going to be the most difficult thing to shoot, out of any hand held gun on the planet. It is just the way they are.

Issue is that they are so inexpensive, have HUGE FPS numbers on the box and idiots....err people...buy it thinking it will be big power....and yes it is...however the more power the more difficult to shoot.

Keep it under 1000fps and you will likely be just fine.
