Howdy Folks, I'm trying to understand some of the marks on my Garand elevation knob. This looks to be one of the Post-WW2 sights w/o any markings on the end of the elevation cap. On the dial part between 8 and 10 where you might expect there to be a "9" instead there is a heavy cross line and two stamps, one that looks like an backward S and another that is another backward S but with a line with a small triangle on it. Look at the photo.

Does anyone know the meaning/significance of these stamps?
TIA,
Alan D

Your elevation knob assembly is a post production replacement part manufactured by Sessions Clock Company. If you would like a reference for the elevation/windage knobs there's a PDF in my MediaFire shared eBooks folder at http://www.mediafire.com/folder/9onmno58kwflx/eBooks
Look for "M1-M14_Elevation-WindageKnobs.pdf' and whatever else you might be interested in.

Thanks Lava Tech. So those backward S things are supposed to be an SSH stamp. Very strange. Thanks for the link to your pages/pdfs, lots of good stuff there.
