I got my CMP Special Grade Garand down to 2.5" groups at 100yds:

47gr IMR4895 with Hornady 150Gr FMJBT seated to cannelure

Also got 4.5" groups at 200yds:

46gr VV-N150 with 175 SMK 3.30"

THESE ARE AT THE FAST END OF THE RANGE SO START LOWER AND WORK UP IF YOU USE THESE LOADS IN YOUR RIFLE.

5 shots, prone, sling, ammo can under support arm.

Can't tell you how happy I am.

It's as-issued. No bedding, GI creepy trigger, standard sights.

The only change from when I got it was they sent me a new gas cylinder because the original one was really loose even after some peening.

I don't think that the new one will ever come off.

I love it when a plan comes together!!

Well done, have a good time shooting your Garand, I know I do...

The only difference in my ammo is the powder I use. Instead of using IMR4895 I switched to H4895 when I couldn't find any IMR4895 over the past year and a half. Both powders will yield similar results even though the charge weights are slightly different.
