I'd just look for obvious abuse. Stock glocks are fairly rugged. Most of the issues I see with Glocks are caused by Korean 17rnd mags (the springs are comparatively weak, which can lead to stove pipes since the design relies on mag spring pressure to eject the case), or because someone fiddled with the trigger/striker springs. OEM springs are cheap and easy to insert - so it is not a big deal if you are getting light strikes.
See how much shwag you can get with the Gun. OEM mags are $20, so getting a half dozen thrown in is nothing to sneeze at. Its also good to see if you can get the holsters and other goodies the former owner, likely no longer needs.
The Gen 2 G17's are the best ! They have the real rust proof Tenifer . Just maily look for any chips or cracks where someone may have dropped it on the muzzle. I have seen a few old and new Glocks with cracked areas around the guide-rod area where people have dropped them on hard concrete just at the right angle to crack the metal. Did you get it locally in Hopkinsville ?
