I know this is talked about a lot, but I still have some trouble deciding. I have just sold all my pistols and am getting one .45. Money is not an issue.
Originally I was set on the HK USP 45, but I've shot friends' through the years and, despite it's reputation for reliability, I do see it hiccup from time to time for no good reason. Just the occasional failure to feed and such. But since this is a weapon I'll be relying on for self defense, reliability is paramount.
I then looked into the Glock 21 Gen 4, but I'm not sure it's proven enough. I've also read of people with .45 Glocks that kaboom. Maybe it's nonsense and *is* only related to ammo issues, but it still makes me nervous.
Those were my two main considerations. I really just want something proven and that will last a long time, and be utterly reliable.
