Well I broke down today and picked up a Glenfield 30A, and am quit happy with this lever gun, as it is the first one I have owned. The bluing is 95%, and the wood, well someone decided to paint it in a camo pattern. So now I am in my search to find replacement furniture, and am not sure where to look. Is it the same wood as the 336, or do I have to find wood that is special for the 30A. All help is greatly apperciated.

P.S. I tried a search, and could not find what I was looking for. Thanks

Congrats. Do you have any photos? I just picked up a Marlin 30AS and I think it is very similar. You could probably just refinish the wood. I suspect, like mine, it is birch. Does it have a barrel band or not? Either way, you can probably pick up new wood easiest by calling Marlin directly (It is my understanding that Marlin made them). I am kind of thinking about refinishing mine or replacing them so I have been doing some research. The stock is around $100 (walnut) and the forearm around $30. I thought about Treebonecarving.com but it is expensive and you have to do some work (but they are very nice stocks). One thing I want to do is an action job and thin my forearm and shorten the barrel. There are a lot of nice threads on marlinowners.com (that someone here directed me to) on how to do much of this stuff. Good luck.

I would refinish the stock, but it had the checkering (1975) in it, and someone sanded half of it out. SO I want to raplace it. This is going to be a gift for my son, as I have redone him a glenfield 60 already. I thought this would be a nice match to that rifle. It will give him something to grow into. I have no pictires of it, and am not good with that part of the computer. It does not have the barrel band, and looks alot like the 336 stocks I see at Numrich's.
