Has anyone ever seen one of these? I have only seen a picture or two. Rare as hens teeth from what I can tell. The Glenfield 30A is far more common.

I have never seen one. If I do, I'll buy it. :) Like my 39 Mountie, there's something just right about straight stocked Marlin lever rifles. I bought the second one of those I've ever seen also - the first was a friends. :D

How long is that barrel?

The 30GT has an 18" barrel. This carbine is one of three Glenfield models that I know of; there are also the Model 30 & 30A. Marlin also made a 30TK for sale at K-Mart.

My current quest is for a straight stock marlin 30-30 to go with my Mountie as well. Have bid on a couple but so far haven't found one in good shape that I can afford to get here.

I have one on layaway right now, it was marked as a 30A on the tag but upon futher inspection it's indeed a GT. It was only $199 so I slapped some money down on it, since I just purchase a Savage 110 and a 94 swede Mauser. I't only going to cost me $209 out the door. It came with a Hurricane 4X scope, which is a brand I've never heard of.

My daughter is going to use it for here first deer gun, hopefully It doesn't pack to much of a wallop for her. She has a Rossi 20 guage coach gun that she uses, I figure the 30Gt won't be much more recoil than her 20 guage. She's left handed and I want to give a something thats more abedextrous.

Peptoe, there are some 125 grain loads out there - less recoil and decent smack on the receiving end. Unless your shooting muleys or elk. :)

And the 200.00 price is just a steal - 30As are moving at 225 around here.

Abel, sorry to hear you've only got one. :( However, I had no idea they even made these, so thanks for sharing! :D
