As a member of law enforcement, I don't generally get too many perks; however, I do have one. Both Sig and Glock give huge discounts for law enforcement sales. I am about to buy a new gun for the case and can buy either the new Sig 250 Compact or the Glock 19. Both Have night sites. The Sig only comes with two mags but is about $40 cheaper so I can buy another mag for it with the difference. Which one should I get?

glock
mags are a dime a dozen and if you really want to carry a "compact" pistol, its the smaller of the 2

I have a 19 and shot my buddy's 250
the 250 trigger is smooth but REALLY LONG (DAO)

another thing is SIG is pushing the whole modularity thing of the 250, unless you plan on utilizing that feature i wouldnt use that as a motivating feature

Shoot both then decide

Just got a G19(OD) and it is my EDC now. It is the perfect gun for ccw. Wish I would've bought one earlier.

Get the G19. Go to Lone Wolfs web site and order the Korean (KCI) G19 15rd mags for $13.00 each thats half the price of Glock OEM mags. All 6 of the KCI G19 mags I bought a few months ago function perfectly.

Both are great guns, I really like who the 250 feels and shoots, so that would be my choice.

Nothing wrong with a Glock 19 either, if you like them both than flip a coin.:D

Ive recently been committing alot of time to my G19 because of ammo prices. Originally I could not hit anything with it and considering selling it frquently. But with time its become my favorite gun and I am a glockaholic now. The g19 is the perfect package for the range and ccw. And after adjusting to the grip and trigger it hammers nails. Ive had one stove pipe in about 1000 rounds this month.

I am looking to ad a 3.5 trigger and ameriglow ghost ring sights to it. Might trade a 1911 or 686 for the glock 21 as well.

Hands down Glock 19. Better trigger, higher capacity, better design & better reliability record.

I've shot noth and would definitely go for the G17. It has a more consistent short pull vs the long pull of the 250. Both are as relaible as each other and will always go bang when you pull the trigger. The 250 though is lighter than the Glock.

Jim,

Be careful of changing the trigger. In several states, mine being one, if you make the trigger lighter, it can not be used as a carry weapon. Also, has anyone ver shown you the Glock trigger reset?

Argue with Glockmeister Reaper

Above is the link so that you can make modifications to lower trigger pull or change back for carry use. Why would you want to do that? Cause after you shoot someone, a police officer is going to take your weapon from you. If they find out you modified the trigger to make it easier to, shall we say kill someone, a jury will burn your ass cause you wanted them dead! :fire:

PLus every 3.5 lb trigger for Glock I have ever seen states 'for competition use only' to get Glock off the hook when some moron like you shoots somebody.

This is simply not true if you are referring to VA. Please show me the part of the VA code that states you cannot modify the trigger of a carry gun. The circumstances of any defense shooting will determine the extent that your gun and its trigger pull will be scrutinized. The fact you have a gun will be a point of contention depending on the circumstances. The role that the trigger weight/ trigger pull had in a shooting is not going to be universally applied.

It scares me that you are member of law enforcement yet seem to know so little about the law you are charged to enforce.

Well, this one's gone downhill quickly.

Remember, here at THR.org we strive for civility, politeness, and the clearest possible understanding of what the LAW says.

Opinions of how the law could work, or what it should say should always be couched in the most clear terms of conjecture -- and NOT used as the basis for insulting or attacking others.
