What about a Kahr PM9 if you want to ankle carry? A bit pricier than a G26 or a 250SC, but it's got completely different ergos and it's a lot lighter than a G26 (can't speak for the 250SC).

IMO if you're looking for something to carry on your ankle you really need to be looking at something like a LCP/P-3AT or at most an LC9/PF9/CM9/PM9/etc. Weight is going to be a lot more noticeable on your ankle vs belt or anywhere else and I would want the lightest possible handgun I felt comfortable with.

This is really a personal pref decision because of the difference in trigger mech. If you like DAO firing..go with the Sig..if you prefer STF go with the glock. To throw another option into the mix.. I personally chose the S&W M&P subcompact over the glock 26. I agree with others here..its a must to handle a few of them and get the one that works best for you.

Also consider your magazine capacity requirements. Generally the smaller and lighter you go the fewer bullets your gonna get per mag (that was my battle...wanting a small gun, but larger gun capacity). Sure something like the LC9 is more fit for the ankle considering weight, size, etc. But your only getting 7 in the mag + 1 chambered. Look at the S&W M&P subcompact..in weight its probably comparable to something like a glock26, but to me feels less like a baby brick to grip. You also get the higher mag capacity at 12 + 1.

Wojo......I am now looking for PPS and PxS subcomp to handle. I hope I can find them soon.

Glock 26. Glock's the market share leader for a reason, especially in their subcompact offerings that can feed off their big brother's durable & cheap mags.

It's so easy to buy holsters & accessories for Glocks that you get spoiled. The manufacturers stack 'em deep & sell 'em cheap.

This too.

I do own a G26 and absolutely love it. Keep in mind the fact that you can put an assortment of higher capacity mags in the G26. It' more versatile. Just sayin'.

I was going to suggest the H&K P2000k, as was mentioned before, but you stated that it was for ankle carry. The H&Ks are great pistols, as are the P250 and G26s, but all seem like the'd be a bit thick for ankle carry. At least for me, ymmv. The Kahr pistols, PMs, CWs, seem like they'd be a pretty good option.

This G26. Depending on the season and clothing: with or without the CTC; with or without the extended magazine.

I'd go with whichever one you run better. Rent one and run a couple hundred rounds down the pipe.

Holding it in my hand tells me absolutely doodly-squat. Glocks seem like they don't fit my hand well. But I run it very well. M&P's fit my hand wonderfully, but when I actually run the gun...it doesn't do it for me.

As far as design/looks/whatever...I don't care. In a carry gun all I'm concerned with is reliability and how well I run it.

I can't give you any advice for ankle carry. I bought an ankle holster and after practicing ankle drawing a few dozen times (lunge, pull up pant leg, draw...wash, rinse, repeat), I discovered ankle carry wasn't for me. I don't like the requirement of dropping to one knee to draw. I don't like the awkward, off-balance position you're in if you bend over and draw. I don't like having a really difficult time reaching it while seated. On the bright side, practice draws make for excellent cardio and strength training for your legs since every draw is a lunge. :)

Glock every time against the 250, they never took off. That's why they are always on sale. The one gun fits all interchangeble parts thing never caught on.
