Well I am looking for a holster for a glock 23. I am right handed I was looking at the uncle mikes kydex belt holster with thumb break. But not set on anything yet. I am only like 5'7" 150 pounds. What you guys use or have used that is comfortable

Uncle Mikes makes a nice and affordable holster. Should I be short on cash, i'd go UM over the Fobus, any day of the week.

Check the classifieds if you guys want a holster and mag combo for the
G19/G23.

What are you going to use the holster for? It all depends on how "concealed" you want to be. The Milt Sparks Summer Special is one of the best IWB holsters made. OWB holsters come in endless designs. The Uncle Mike holster sticks out pretty far. That's why they are not legal for IDPA. Some folks have taken the UM belt holster, removed the belt tunnel and replaced it with just the paddle. Seems to hug your body pretty close for an OWB holster.

I carry my G22 OWB in a leather FIST #12. I would avoid FIST kydex holsters...or at least the OWB ones. I've had two of them break because of the thin kydex they use.

I don't like carrying IWB, but if I were going to carry IWB I would use either the Comp-Tac CTAC or the Milt Sparks Versa Max II.

sounds like you settled on the 23. congratulations; i hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoy mine. i carry mine in a galco summer comfort. this holster is very concealable and comfortable for me. every now and then i carry in the uncle mike's kydex paddle, usually when i don't plan on doing alot of running around that day. the neat thing about that holster is it will fit all three of my glocks - the 27, 23 and 22. what works for me may not work for you, though. i'm 5'11" and about 230 lbs but my diminutive girlfriend prefers the same mode of carry with either the galco usa or summer comfort, so go figure. i hate to be the wet blanket but the fact is you're probably going to have to experiment quite a bit 'till you find the combination that "clicks" for you. trying the holster on in the gun store (if they won't let you try it on with an empty pistol, shop elsewhere and tell 'em why) will help weed out the truly horrid ones but you've gotta wear a holster for a while to decide if it's right for you. leather holsters will also take a little while to wear in right. it's actually not that uncommon for people to spend as much money on holsters as they did on the gun. try several modes of carry, types of material and manufacturers and you'll start to get an idea of what you need. good luck.

well I am very happy with it I have shot about 150 rounds so far shot really well. I really like the Comp-Tac CTAC holster I wish their was some gun stores around here tht actually had a good selection of holsters around here. I could try instead of just keep ordering ones from the internet they show up and I don't like them. Their is a gun show this weekend in dayton ohio I am considering going up to it and see what holsters they have available their I can try.

For some reason I prefer kydex for Glocks. And Blade Tech makes an IWB that costs about $30, the "fits all" model, that fits all the Glock 9s, 40s, and 357s.

EDITED: My partner bought a Side Armor IWB for his G22, and it is sweet. Real nice.

Leather for all other pistols... ;)

And just my free opinion & worth every cent!

Go ahead and order the CTAC, it is almost always liked by those who have one, and if you don't like it for some reason, it would be a snap to sell it, especially for a popular pistol like the 23 (it will also fit the G19).

PS -- and they will usually get it to you in just a few days, not weeks.

Ive had GREAT results with my FIST ultra-thin kydex IWB for my G23 (it also fits my G36 perfectly). You have to see it to appreciate how thin it is. It's like a second skin. I hear Braden's complaint about the OWBs, but my experience with the IWBs has been very positive. Best of luck making your choice.

I have 2 holsters I'm happy with. I generally prefer leather and my favorite is the Don Hume H715M. Sidearmor makes an awsome IWB holster for thos who like Kydex. Any other gun I carry, it's always the Hume holster. With Glocks, I tend to go back a forth a bit between Hume and Sidearmor.

Sidearmor makes an excellent IWB for Glocks. For me, the only gun I will carry in a plastic holster is a Glock, for my Sig and HK, it's strictly leather. The Sidearmors are quite pricey if you buy them new but they are extremely affordable, ~$30, if you buy them used.

Blade-Tech makes another good kydex holster but they are thinner and less workmanship goes into them.

But decent if you need a kydex IWB for a PSP P7.
