I'm interested in the G19, but far as i know, only the 17 and 22 are the only Gen 4s so far.

I guess the immediate question that comes to my mind is: will Glock be expanding the 4th Gens to the other models? I've heard that compacts will soon follow but how soon?! :scrutiny:

Hopefully far enough out I can evaluate my new gen4 17 and decide if I want a 19 or 23 to match it. Although lately I've been wanting a 32, simply because I don't own a 357 auto. :D

I'd like to hear more from the fullsize owners before jumping in, but I will be watching. The Glock compacts are my favorite pistols, and the Gen III's are yet to do me wrong. There are significant design changes to the Gen IV's; it is not just a grip stippling/finger groove type cosmetic adjustment.

Currently I have a Glock 30 SF (compact 45 acp) which is Gen III.
Glock claims it's a sub-compact, but it's about the same size as the G19 and G23 frame/slide.

You guys think they'll expand Gen IV to the 10mm and 45 acp SF models?

^^^your guess is as good as anyone else's.

judging from all the issues arising with gen4's, glock will prob either modify them, or discontinue them. plus gen3's are still outselling them, by far.

Ive heard about some of those issues related to the Gen 4 Glocks.

At any rate, my experience with Glock customer service is beyond satisfactory and it should be noted that if anything were to occur to Gen 4 owners, Glock is more than happy to remedy it.

My Gen 3 G30 SF has not ran into any hiccups of any kind, from anything serious to minor FTF and FTEs, it has eaten everything i've fed it without a single malfunction, and i feed it cheap stuff. :neener:

^^^glad to hear you like your g30sf, my friend. i was thinkin on getting one....

my experience with glock's cust serv has lead me to the conclusion that your satisfaction depends on who answers the phone there in GA lol

one rep sent me the wrong parts under warranty, and another rep would not send me the right one's because i'm not a glock armorer, and advised me the first rep shouldn't have done that (?)

I only own Gen II's and III's, so I'm only parroting what Gen IV owners have shared over on GT. The most common complaint with the Gen IV G17 is that it is slightly over-sprung, since it shares the same recoil spring assembly with the new G22. There have been reports of not cycling weak plinking loads due to this. Other than the grip, redesigned recoil spring assembly and ambidextrous mag release, I don't think there's that much difference from the Gen III's.
