Most accurate semi-automatic I have ever shot... right out of the box. It needed nothing but now has a Fastfire III on it, and a KKM barrel since I'm considering a suppressor....and to save brass. I carry it around the property in a Kenai chest holster.
Like bc, I keep it handy for home defense.
Get one.
I have one. It was accurate right out of the box and is reliable. Goes bang every time I pull the trigger. I can easily ring steel at 50 yard with it. I normally target shoot with average strength factory ammo but recoil is easily manageable even with the stronger ammo like underwood. I also have a glock 20 gen 4 and I like it just as much. The recoil is a little more stout but mainly due to muzzle flip with stronger loads, still very manageable though.
I love mine! Sold my Gen3 G20 when I bought the G40. It's an amazing handgun to shoot. Recoil feels better than with the G20, even with a 6" barrel. The long slide makes it more fun to shoot.
I bought one and liked it so well I bought another. One has Burris Fastfire III and the other stock open sights. More accurate than I am and a lot of fun to shoot.
I have both and I honestly don't see any difference in any meaningful comparison except for recoil, and even that isn't really much more stout out of the 20.
They both perform well and I've never had a problem shooting any type or name brand ammo out of either. I'd recommend either.
