I was thinking about getting a Glock (gulp) due to the availability of the MOS models. 45acp is my favorite caliber and have always thought, if I ever buy a Glock, it would be the Glock 21. I nearly bought a Glock 21 last year and ended up getting a Sig 320 45acp FS, which I am very happy with. However, I do not want to have the slide milled on the 320, hence my interest in Glock. Upon looking at the Glock website, I noticed the only Glock 45acp that is available with the MOS slide is the model 41. I wonder if Glock will ever make the 21 available with the MOS slide. I've noticed they offer both the model 17 and 19 in MOS models for those that prefer 9mm.

Just buy a 21 and have it milled. Likely cheaper in the long run... I have a 34 MOS and should have went the milled route, as the swappable plates add height.

If you are POSITIVE you are going to go with a RED DOT, then get it milled. It's a cleaner result and sits lower.

I just put a red dot on a G17MOS because I'm not positive I'm going to make that transition, but I wanted to try it.

Today was the second day with it actually. The transition will take a little getting used to, but presbyopia is kind of forcing my hand....

I think it'll work out for me in the long run. But I'll reserve judgement until I have more time with the combination.

If I decide to stay with the RED DOT, then this MOS goes for sale and my standard G17 gets sent to ATEi. I wouldn't trust anyone other than Doug to mill my carry gun. http://ateiguns.com

I sold my Glock 21. The 41 is superior IMO. So if that is the only thing holding you back, go for it.

But I'd agree, milling a 41 slide is nicer than the MOS. Not that it's a huge difference. I prefer the Bowie Tactical milling, and plain black iron sights with a trijicon RDS.

Price difference between a non MOS and a MOS is less than a hundred dollars. If you are buying new go MOS. Plus Glock includes 4 different mounting plates. No wait immediate availability no shipping and receiving needed. Plus your warranty remains intact. Yes optics with MOS tend to sit higher but co witnessing is still possible with the right sights. Its cheaper / easier / better in the long run just getting it done by Glock.
