I just have one question. Which of these two guns is most popular? Either for bad guy use or good guy use, doesn't matter.

i think glock owns most police agencies, the beretta the military contracts, sig dabbled and won orders in both areas, bad guys whatever they can get their hands on.also 1911 style has made a big comeback in some areas.

For carry I would probably choose Glock over Beretta's options. That being said gimme a 1911 or a Walther PPS.

The Beretta is a ridiculously large gun for the round it fires and the amount of ammo it holds. You can get a Glock 19, which still holds 15 rds of ammunition, has a shorter barrel, a grip that isn't as fat and awkward, and doesn't have that God-awful frame mounted safety-decocker.
As much as I dislike the Beretta, I do have to say that I haven't had one that I've been issued ever jam, but because of the crappy magazines the military INSISTS on buying, the ones I've used have hardly ever gone to slide lock.

I prefer glocks over berrettas. I've shot plenty of both and I will tell everyone glock is simply better. Now sig vs glock would be a different story.

I think the beretta's trigger is sloppy but it is reliable and its a big beefy gun so almost no recoil.

Glocks are just as reliable the trigger is more consistent (its dao) and has less creep. Also after market parts and accessories are everywhere. And concealibility is a huge advantage.

Just my .02 ymmv

They are both great pistols.

i prefer the Glock because they come in many sizes, and many of them are concealable. The Beretta is a fine piece, but concealable it is not.

Berettas are the 1911's of 9mms. I would choose a 9mm beretta over a 9mm glock. The Glock will win in other calibers though but for 9mm the Beretta all the way.

Beretta. The standard for all bad guys. It is like a rule or something that when you work for a high class criminal agency you have a beretta.

Military and Beretta

My brother is an investigator for the Army. He told me last week that the Army is about to start weening off the Berettas and going to a 45 caliber handgun.

.......

been hearing that too,but beretta just won a pretty big u.s contract again here recently 30 or 60 days ago.replacing worn out pistols supposedly.just found it on jan. 29th u.s army ordered 450,000 92 fs pistols and spare parts for total of 220 million. all pistols built by u.s workers in maryland.

As to popularity, no comparison. Beretta's military and police contracts around the world dwarf Glock's. Good enough for our Army, good enough for me.

I carry a 92FS concealed. It's not too big. Just need to find the right location and holster. Accurate as any other autoloading pistol I've ever shot, except my Remington-Rand 1911A1 with Colt National Match barrel. Beautifully made and totally reliable.

Glock, on the other hand, is a striker-fired plastic dog turd.

Hmm...

Tough choice.

The Beretta 92 models are my favorite metal framed guns.

Glocks and XDs are my favorite polymer guns.

If I had to choose one autoloader, it would probably either be a G17 or a G19.

Hmm. Italian icon and US service pistol or surrender kraut zip gun with a bad handle?

Gotta go with the icon.

the Glock...mostly the model 22 in .40...with LE and and also with gangsters...but in 9mm.

of the 2, i prefer the Beretta because it just runs smoother...no dropping barrel...and returns from recoil faster for me.

marketing, coupled with bargin pricing, of the Glock to LE has been extremely sucessful...and bad guys like to use what cops fo
