No brainer. Glock 19

Out of Glock's frames, the compact 19 frame gives the perfect combination of control and concealment. JMHO, of course

And the 9mm round will do its part if placed well.

Voted for the one that does both jobs the best- the G17.

I would take the 19.

---------------------------

Either you are the weapon and the gun is the tool or the gun is the weapon and you are a tool.

I own every model in the poll and love them all. If I was forced to choose one for an all purpose gun, I'd go with the g30. You can carry it with ease in a cross breed super tuck. With some night sights you can night stand the gun for home defense. You can cc with the 10 round flush magezine and night stand it with a 13 round g 21 magezine. It's the best of both worlds. IMO its the most accurate compact 45 on the market.
The only down side is it can get pricey to shoot.

Although a 1911 fan and shooter (I like how the 1911 45's feel and shoot), I have to place my vote with the Glock 19 as being the best carry gun. The 9mm round works just fine for self defense.

The G19 for both.I carry the 19 but take the 17 to the range 90% of the time. The G26 is the only glock I have ever sold.

You only listed one .45 acp. Then again, it's the one I own, and carry so I guess that's okay.

Of those listed, the 19 is the best choice.

For my own same situational use, I went with the same size gun in .40; the Glock 23.

Well CTGunner, you say that the 19 feels the most comfortable in your hand and you shoot it as well as any of the others but you mostly shoot the 17 at the range and use the 26 for carry even though it's not the most comfortable your hand - I guess that would go for the 27 as well...and you don't shoot the 30 much either and don't carry it concealed...

So, going by what you say, it appears that you should keep the three 9s and sell the other two. You have the 17 for range or home use, the 19 for your favorite and the 26 that will conceal the best for carry...and they all use the same ammo...plus the 17 and 19 or 19 and 26 can fill-in for each other if something happens to the other...;)

I use these three Glocks myself but I find that the 17 and 26 actually fit my hand the best while my wife likes the feel of the 19...so, the 17 does duty as a home gun (with a Glock light attached) and sometimes as a duty pistol, the 19 is my wife's go to gun and for purse carry while the 26 is my concealed carry pistol (I just curl my little finger under the mag as my middle and ring finger lock the gun in my hand)...

I also like the G30, more so in the SF frame...but, settled on 1911's to launch my .45s...:D

So, there you have it...another opinion! ... but only your opinion matters! :neener:

Oh, for the benefit of the poll, I'd have to pick the 17 for a one and only for ME...

I see this enough to wonder what creates the situation. Why do some gun owners have to "thin the herd"? I mean, guns don't eat much, their medical care is downright cheap and they don't complain about how small their room is or that they're kept in the dark. I understand why herds of cows, chickens, goats and the like need to be culled ever so often, but what makes a gun collection get to the point of needing "thinning"?

I've got several guns made in the early part of the last century. They're my oldest and quite often the most admired.

As my grandson would allow, " Just sayin' "

While I voted for the G19 I don't own one. I think it is the best for all around as your question asked and if I only had one Glock it would be my choice. Personally I keep a G17 for HD on my bed frame and a G26 for my CCW in a CBST.

I love my 27. I carry it everywhere and keep it on my nightstand. Concealable with plenty of power

it's really time for me to thin the collection a little and at least 1 has to go.
From this perspective, it is an easier question to answer.

Get rid of the 27 and 30. That way, you've consolidated down to one caliber--the least expensive one. And you have cross-compatability: the G17 mag works in the G26, even if it looks funny.

I voted for the 26. It allows me to go from the ten round for carry to compact for my nightstand gun and when I can conceal it I also shove the 19 mag in.

Of the 5 choices I would go with the 19 as the best all-around choice for HD and CCW.
