I bought some Glock mags for my 9's and the package was labeled 17 slim frame; they also have what appears to be an ambidextrous mag release cut across the front of them. I checked my dealer and the Glock site and did not see a 17/19 SF. Anyone heard whether or not Glock is offering anything besides the 20/21SF?

They have been on the market for about six months but I have not seen any labeled slim frame. I received some 07/03/2008 but no sf label. The SF on a Glock refers to short frame. I think Glock is going to the new design with all mags.

Current SF Glocks out = Glock Model 21SF and Model 30SF.

Rumored to be released in next 1-2 years = Glock Model 20SF and Model 29SF.

The ambi-mag release cut magazines is the new style for all Glock magazines, since it is cheaper to produce one style of magazines than two.

Current MB Glocks out = Glock Model 17MB and Model 19MB. Glock Model 21SF can be had with the MB option.
The Model 17MB and Model 19MB are only available in the EU.

MB is the designation that Glock has given to the non-SF ambi-magazine release Glocks.

Glock 20 & 29 SF models were recently added to the CA DOJ approved handgun roster. Does anyone know when they will be in stores?

Yeah they are cutting them all for ambi mag release now. The short frame models seem to be where its at. I cant understand why they dont just make them all that way. Or for that matter make them even more reduced. It would do nothing but increase sales IMO. I know I would be more inclined to buy another one.

The "slim frame" the OP mentions is probably just referring to the fact that the G17 is on Glock's "small" frame, as opposed to the .45 ACP stuff, etc.

My FFL order my 20SF OD green yesterday at the Glock booth. Now the wait is on.

Just because the Glock web site has no mention of the new Slim Frame models does not mean they do not exist. There is a 21 and a 21SF in the display case at the local shop. The SF grip feels better, a little better, but better.

I'm so pumped about this news! I told myself the only Glocks I will own are my 19 and 26 (9mm perfection:)). The only exception to this was if Glock came out with a 20SF. Now that they did I will HAVE to get one in OD green and give it some trigger work.

Yes they do exist, but the Glock 36 is the only "Slim Frame" Glock, and it is listed on the web site. It is Glock's only single stack piece.

The SF designation stands for "Short Frame." At present, there are four (4) SF models: G21SF, G20SF, G29SF and G30SF.

Unfortunately no they didn't.

The 21 and the 21SF sitting side by side in the display case are the same length. The grip is narrower side to side and shorter front to back. The are the same length. Visually, it is hard to tell any difference.

Go google 21SF and see how the dealers list them in their ads. It ain't short frame.

The grip difference on the short frame pistols is minimal, IMO. Some people say they fee l a huge difference, I dont. I call it (S)till (F)at.
