As the title states, I'm going to give them a run. Prices are approaching cast, better than plated and Hi-tek (thats another story, don't get me started).

I favor the 124 grain weight, as that's what I carry for SD. I notice they have 3 flavors. RN, TC, and HP. Wondering about people's experiences with these.

I'm looking to approximate standard pressure 124 grain SD loads by Hornady, Fed and Sig, and also a softer load for a couple of vintage pistols. Currenty shooting 4 gr HP-38 with Acme 121 in these. Not looking for any major power factor loads.

For the modern pistols, a FN FNS and CZ P-07, I'm open to options. Have HP-38, Power pistol (likely to be discontinued once depleted), Red Dot, unique on the shelf. BE-86, sport pistol, and Universal intrigue me also. I have also used HS-6 and favor the powder in 9mm and .38 heavy/.357 mid power as well as a shotgun application. I also load .41 mag, and a powder which would double as a light-mid cast bullet propellant in this cartridge would be a bonus. Unique would work for all, but it meters like S and when approaching the max that makes me nervous. Which bullet and what loads are folks shooting with these bullets? Note, the CZ has a short throat.

I use their 124 jhp over 3.7 grains of AA#2, not super soft but accurate. I load these kinda short for a tanfolio stock 2 but also shoot them in my p07 and they do well.

It has been my experience that the TC FP Matchwinners are the most accurate. When I talked the Jake at RMR a while back and he shared that this has been his experience also.

The last time I loaded it with 231, I used 4.3-4.5grs and loaded to an OAL of 1.114" for a G34, a M&P9, and a SIG 320...very functional, but nothing special.

A friend is loading the 124gr MW over about 3.5grs of Alliant E3, substitute for N320, but seated down to 1.08" to feed through his CZ and aftermarket barreled G17...very accurate and clean

9mm 124gr fmj rn at 4.8gr unique 1.150coal works great for me!

Will be ordering another 3k. Also, add to that a THR discount.

I’ve had good luck with the RMR 124gr TR match winners out of my Glock 19. Loaded to an OAL of 1.080” after suggested by some members on here. Using Alliant Sport Pistol, everything from 3.7-3.9gr showed good accuracy so I settled on 3.8grs.
3.6grs I had some issues with slide not locking on last round.

I’ve also used W231 with good results but like the sport pistol a bit more and it’s cheaper in my area by a few bucks.

Now that I have a chrono and when the weather warms up I plan to do some more testing with different powder charges and seating depths. Mainly because I like to tinker and it gives me something to do!

I use the rmr match winners.
my standard load is 4.0 of hp38.

i have used other powders but always end up going back to hp38.

You likely wont be disappointed with whichever you choose from RMR. Their plated and jacketed both are good, their jacketed price increase over their plated price is negligible so it makes sense to go with jacketed...

I was buying precision delta bullets in bulk way back but RMR beats their prices every time, so i've used them for a while. They honestly shoot about the same as the other brand as far as I can tell, but less money is always good.

I’ve used all three, and note that the HP and TCFP I’ve needed to load at a shorter COL than the RN in order to chamber. There’s nothing wrong with that you just need to work up the load appropriately, but if you like longer COLs then the RN is it. I need a bit more powder to make minor with the jacketed variety rather than the coated lead. I only load to minor PF and save the SD loads for on-sale factory ammo.
Of the powders you list, I load 4.2 of 231 (HP-38) at 1.120” for the TCFP. I use 4.3 of Sport Pistol for the same bullet/COL.

Titegroup, IMR Target and N320 are other decent fast powders for lite to minor PF loads. When I get my setup ready I’ll develop a BE-86 load but haven’t yet.
N330, N340, WSF and CFE Pistol are really nice for your full power loads. I’ve used PP but am not a fan of it. Good luck!

What COL are you using in the P07? I'll be using a different powder as AA powders are not common locally. Probably going to try BE-86 after my supply of PP is depleted, it gets such good reviews and checks all my boxes for versatility. Really don't like PP so far, but have 2# to use up.

I like the MPR HPs a bit more money, maybe a hair less accurate than the Match Winners but can do double duty if necessary.
If ti was me and you are not concerned with "double duty" (and the small price increase, I would go with the TC match Winners.
RMR makes great bullets so any of them will probably work well for you.

PM me if you are interested and I can send you a sample of the 124gr MPRs to try. Can't recall if I have any 124gr Matchwinners left. (if I do I can send some of them as well)

Thanks for the offer, but I think I'm decided on the TC version. And to clarify my OP, I'm not planning on using any of these for defensive purposes, just to approximate the recoil and POI of the defensive load I currently carry.

I'm loading these to 1.12, but that is what I needed for the tanfo and they happen to work well in the p07.

I just started w/RMR and am very happy. I am loading 9mm with their 135 gr Flat point with 4.2 gr. BE86. accurate and soft shooting. No issues in my H&Ks. I also have some 124gr HP that I load at 5.1 BE86. I looked at the website today and did not see the 135gr. I guess they are out of those. It is still better than Berrys the last few months.

This is true......:D

Wow, Glad to see your back. I was worrying something happened to you.

Anyways, I have all three also and my preferred is 124 gr MPRs. 5.5 -5.6 gr of BE-86 is a really accurate load out of my 9mms @ 1.080 Coal.
The jury is still out on my favorite though, because I haven't got to shoot any of the 124 gr Match Winners yet, I just got them two weeks ago. That will come later this week.

Going to give RMR 9mm bullets a try ... 124 grain weight

I have several 9mm barrels and newest Lone Wolf barrel has the shortest leade which requires shortest OAL.

These are the max working OALs from comparison barrel/OAL thread you can reference for your load development with these RMR bullets - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...g-oal-col-for-reference.848462/#post-11068321
  • RMR 124 gr FMJ: 1.120"
  • RMR 124 gr FP MW: 1.075"
  • RMR 124 gr JHP MPR: 1.040"
Here are comparison picture of OALs that work in most of my other barrels

Use at your own risk, THR not responsible, etc.

Max load bordering on potential +p load

4.8 Sport pistol / 115 MW / PC9 carbine = BIG, BIG smile
Similar results with BE 86 and 124 MW's
My LNL AP bullet feeder die loves the TCFP design.
EZ to seat 'em consistent and straight.
My 'stash' of MW's is something I always keep an eye on.
