Actually, I just finished working up loads with that very same bullet... albiet for my short-barreled Kahr pistols.
You are correct... Unique will work well between 9mm and the .41MAG, but I also agree that Unique's... uh... unique metering characteristics... can get a little edgy at max load in 9mm. Much of it has to do with your powder drop, however... my old Hornady drop is seasoned enough where I get pretty good drops with small charges of Unique, and I'm OK with dropping Unique for the 9mm with it, now.
Other powders I worked with... and understand, I was looking for a powder that would work with the shorter barrel... include BE-86, W244, and SportPistol. I have also used TiteGroup, a powder which I don't like, but giving the devil it's due, works pretty well in the 9mm. Given your search for a powder that would work well with 9mm and mid-range .41MAG loads... I would have to recommend BE-86 of the ones I've tried. With the caveat that I like Unique better, BE-86 certainly meters better.
The Dark Horse candidate for the 9mm only was W244. I really liked how it performed, and it gave excellent accuracy, but at max book charge it gave roughly 5% less velocity than other powders. I suspect fiddling with bullet seat depth might help that, which I also found in 200grn .45ACP loads with it as well.
