Going to the Trap Field

If I could get 15 out of 25 after 3 years of not shooting, I'd hope for a medal for luckiest shooter. 23 out of 25 is Olympic contender status for me

That's all I ever shoot with. The over/under guys look at me like I'm Jed Clampett on holiday. I grin and turn my gun sideways and tell them, "I'm with ya".

Ugly and cheap can shoot just as well as beautiful and expensive. It's all up to the loose nut behind the trigger.
22-23 is not hard, especially with American Trap. We are not talking that continental fast and small trap from Europe or Euro stuff. We talking Slow and low with nice crossing MERICA Trap. PULLLLLL

I also shoot very low ready, only way I know how to shoot clay.

I have a strange breathing style when I shoot. 2-3 very deep breath, sound a hog, last exhale breath I call Pull.

These are the two I shoot with, a 50 year old Savage Fox B and a CZ Hammer Classic, both 12 gauge. CZ has screw in chokes, cyl/imp. cyl. The Fox B is mod/full fixed chokes. Both have 30" barrels.

SxS with rabbit ears!! that’s going to be my new shotgun!

I can hit most anything approaching or going away, but I have a nasty tendency to stop my swing and follow-through on crossing shots. Our trap field is a strange concoction. The departing trap is below the shooter and is a wobble thrower, you never know what direction or whether it will be high or low. The field is also a 5 stand, with seven more traps that throw both ways across the field, including a rabbit. The shooting positions are a pyramid, with the center position at the top, about eight feet higher than the end positions. The wobble trap is directly below the middle shooting position and level with the end positions.

that looks FUN! Wobbler with 5 elevation stations! I like Wobblers!

I only perfect I shot was on the wobbler! best feeling ever

I follow thur because it feels good to do it, looks like you know what your doing

It’s UGLY 4 sure, and yes, I thought that was real wood when I bought it. My desire for pretty shotguns as man jewelry is over. I don’t care if it looks like a rusty pipe on a AR stock, as long as it fits and mount without binding.

I use to take my Walmart 870 Express with tang top to the field, and shoot next to the Italian boys, they always look me up and down like a trailer class (i’m perfectly ok with that!! I’m from Rockingham and I don’t give a Darn) anyway, they stop busting on me, when I’m shooting 23 & 24 with a gun that cost less than there shell belt.

I love shooting Clay Birds!

My Club is Renton Fish & Game, 2 American trap, 1 Wobbler trap, 1 Olympic Continental trap, and a Skeet … Wonder place to shoot. I have not been back in 3 years and the demographic has changed, very young people working there and shooting.!
"....with a gun that cost less than their shell belt". Lordy, that cracked me up! And mostly true.

Of all the guns I've owned and shot the Remington model 41 targetmaster and a good SxS are the two that have probably brought the most pleasure.

Shot a round tonight w the little 20 ga Citori Hunter.
My new reg glasses cost me a bird (frame in the way).

Better to figure that out now rather than dove field.

Note to self: allergy and pain med (combo OTC) an hr before shooting LOL
The ol lady says I reek of pollen.

Might run to gunshop and check on Citori Composite tomorrow.
a 30" be better for clays but am thinking 28" for clays/hunting.
Id feel less stress dinging that up vs a grade 2 Hunter.
