I'm going to meet a fellow tomorrow to trade a semi-custom 1911 of mine for a Benelli M4 (and a pile of extras). We are meeting at a rifle range (1/2 way between us) so we can each perform function checks on the weapons.
Is there anything in particular that I should check for on the M4? It has been many years since I owned a pump shotgun, and I've never owned an auto.
The M4 is one of the factory "Desert Storm" cammo jobs. The current owner ordered the collapsible stock from Benelli, installed it, and has replaced a few parts (with USA parts) to keep it legal. The trigger group is not OEM. He says it runs, and all the OEM parts are included in the deal.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
